Ch 11
A month slipped by in a blur. Their days were filled with endless little tasks, like taking care of any extra-legal documents that needed to be submitted, helping Chae Yoo-jeong prepare for his upcoming interview, and juggling schedules that never seemed to align.
Time management became a constant battle, weighed down by the haze of jet lag and the slow struggle to adjust to the rhythm of a new time zone. Yet, as people always do, they have found ways to cope. Little by little, the unfamiliar no longer felt overwhelmed, and they began adapting to their new surroundings.
Eventually, it was time to begin classes at the German college they both attended. The opening ceremony felt long and boring, the speeches washing over them in a language they couldn’t yet fully grasp…but it was fine. It was, after all, just the beginning.
Since Chae Yoo-jeong was pursuing his bachelor’s degree in architecture and Yoo Ji-han his master’s degree in architecture, their daily routines rarely overlapped. Most of their classes were entirely different, with lectures, studios, and assignments scheduled at varying times.
As a result, encounters between them were few and far between. When they did cross paths, it was usually a fleeting moment in a quiet hallway….a brief exchange of glances, a hurried nod, always accompanied by a small, shy smile, before they disappeared again into the rhythm of their separate days.
However, they shared the same class, which is German Speaking Class, held on Wednesdays.
Just as Yoo Ji-han was about to walk over to Chae Yoo-jeong, he noticed him surrounded by a group of Korean students, clearly popular and drawing their attention.
“No way! You’re that popular streamer from Korea, right? My boyfriend talks about you all the time! I didn’t know you were here.”
One of them exclaimed with a big smile on her face.
“You were modeling for a perfume brand, weren’t you? You’re amazing!”
Another student added, his tone was full of admiration.
“I feel like I’ve seen you before!”
A group of students, men and women alike, crowded around, all intrigued by this Korean guy. Even some of the other international students turned their heads, curious to see who had drawn so much attention. Chae Yoo-jeong simply smiled and replied politely, letting the admiration wash over him without missing a beat.
“Let’s head back to our seats, shall we? We don’t want to make a commotion before class starts. We can talk afterward.”
Chae Yoo-jeong busied himself trying to calm the crowd around him. One of the girls asked,
“It’s a promise, right?”
‘No way…’
Yoo Ji-han squinted his eyes.
Before Chae Yoo-jeong could reply, Yoo Ji-han kissed him boldly in front of everyone, grabbing him by the collar and pulling him closer, pressing their bodies together.
Between kisses, Yoo Ji-han glanced at the girl and smirked, as if making a point, before turning all his focus back to Chae Yoo-jeong, especially when he felt hands at his waist, squeezing lightly in response.
A silence broke across the murmuring crowd. Everyone seemed to hold their breath, waiting to see if Chae Yoo-jeong would kiss back with the same intensity, captivated by Yoo Ji-han’s boldness and daringness.
Soon after, silence was filled with gasps, and cheers, while some started clapping and catcalling. Some even snapped a picture of them, although they didn’t consent to having their pictures taken.
Just then, the professor walked in, catching sight of the scene before the kiss had ended. He walked toward them, and he cleared his throat.
“Please stop the PDA. I’ve a class to teach, and it’s about to begin. Everyone, return to your seats, in this moment.”
The two, flustered by the loud voice, broke apart and quickly scrambled to their seats.
The teacher watched as the students returned to their places, disappointment written on their faces. He sighed.
‘Kids nowadays…’
Then his gaze lingered on the lovebirds; he chuckled softly, gave them a brief nod, and turned away.
Reaching the podium, the professor arranged the files in his hands before beginning his lecture.
From his seat, Yoo Ji-han stole a side-glance at Chae Yoo-jeong and smirked. Chae Yoo-jeong, on the other hand, kept his eyes fixed on the professor, trying his hardest to focus without meeting Yoo Ji-han’s gaze.
A subtle thread of love seemed to tie them together, and those around them couldn’t help but feel a pang of envy.

“Should I post this in the community forum…….?”
A group of female friends who were having a cafe break, stood in line waiting for lattes and hamburgers. One of them scrolled through her phone, flipping through the photos she had taken earlier.
“Girl, maybe you should ask permission.”
“I think… they wouldn’t be doing that if they really minded being seen.”
Mumbling her words, the blonde student took a sip from her latte through the straw.
“Customer, here’s your plate of cinnamon buns.”
The worker placed the plate in front of the girl, who, distracted by the phone in her hands, stumbled into her seat. Her eyes widened, and she quickly clutched the edge of the couch to steady herself.
In the chaos of the stumble, the post with the picture had already gone live, the screen still glowing in her hands. She blinked rapidly, heart skipping a beat, and looked up at her friend sitting across from her on the brown leather couch.
“What?”
She whispered, a mix of panic and disbelief in her voice.
‘Omg….no, no, no…I…’
Her short black hair slipped from behind her ears as her eyes widened in terror. She rested her chin on her hand, neck bent forward in dismay.
“I… accidentally posted the picture.”
The black-haired student admitted, her voice barely above a whisper.
A tense silence hung in the air for a few seconds, broke only when two of their friends returned with drinks in hand, oblivious to the unfolding drama.
“Well, what happened has happened. Just delete it. You shouldn’t post stuff without permission in the first place, dear.”
“You can’t really delete a post once it’s been published on the forum.”
The girl replied, panic flickering in her eyes.
The girl, who had made a terrible mistake, bowed her head and thought slowly. The view count on the post had already climbed to 10,000 views within just two minutes.
She hurriedly typed a message to the forum administrator, her fingers trembling slightly as she hit send.
‘Please, please just delete it, completely, permanently.’
She thought, her heart racing as she imagined the post spreading further with every passing second.
‘This is going to take up to a week to get deleted.’
She bit the corner of the skin near her nail, then shook her head and lightly slapped her cheeks. Rising to her feet, she waved at her friends.
“I should get going.”
She said, forcing a smile, trying to hide her worry and the hint of a depressing expression. Her friends exchanged troubled glances but decided to let it slide, since there wasn’t much, they could do at that point.
“Bye girls… See you later.”
The friends continued to talk about what had happened before the beginning of the class.
“I didn’t know the gold haired guy was already dating another handsome guy. Dang, that’s a real-life experience….seeing a couple like that.”
One of the friends said, wiping the corner of her eyes as she laughed at the thought.
“They are like a Schnecken couple. Hahaha.” (Schnecken also means Snail.)
“Thinking of it that way is kind of gross.”
“But it suits them. They’re like sticky cinnamon buns after all.”
Their laughter blended with the cozy atmosphere of the café that surrounded them, warm and easy.
Meanwhile, the post continued to explode in popularity and ended up going viral, surpassing a million views in just a single day and spreading like wildfire across other social media platforms.
