As time went by, Chae Yoo-jung gradually returned to college and continued his studies, fitting classes into a life that was still carefully structured around therapy sessions. The routine was exhausting, but Chae Yoo-jung never complained about it.
Days blurred together, passing faster than he could keep track of, and before Chae Yoo-jung realized it, he had become too busy to even look after Yoo Ji-han the way he used to, no longer hovering nearby, no longer checking in at every small sound.
Yoo Ji-han sat quietly, watching Chae Yoo-jung as he slept slumped over the desk once again, his cheek pressed against his arm, dark circles faintly visible beneath his eyes.
The computer was still on, the light was the only thing cutting through the dim room. On the monitor was a detailed floor plan for an assignment, lines and measurements neatly drawn, evidence of how long he must have been working before exhaustion finally claimed him.
“I can’t believe time went so fast, and he is already a 3rd year.”
Yoo Ji-han let out a quiet, melancholic sigh as he gently caressed Chae Yoo-jung’s face, careful not to wake him.
‘And I finished my master’s course.’
Yoo Ji-han smiled to himself, while swiftly carrying Chae Yoo-jung carefully, into his arms to their bed, mindful not to wake him. He placed Chae Yoo-jung gently on the bed.
“Sweet dreams, Yoo-jung-ah.”
Now, Yoo Ji-han had more than enough strength to do so, ever since deciding to spend much of his time at the gym. With Chae Yoo-jung growing busier and more absorbed in college life, especially with plans to graduate early, Yoo Ji-han had found himself with more time on his hands. Now on a break from work for the next few months, he’d kept up his training, enough that carrying Chae Yoo-jung posed no difficulty at all.

“Finally……”
Chae Yoo-jung dragged himself up from his seat and stretched his arms, muscles aching pleasantly as the tension finally eased. His third year was finally over, and with it, he had finished his architecture degree. There was still one or two years of practical training ahead before he could officially call himself an architect, but that part didn’t bother him.
What had been difficult, for him, was juggling his side jobs as a streamer and an agency model, since now he needed to earn his own money. Yoo Ji-han had told him more than once that he could rely on him instead, that he didn’t need to struggle so much, but Chae Yoo-jung always refused. He said he needed to pay his own way, which earning his living was something he wanted, something he owed to himself.
Yoo Ji-han worried that Chae Yoo-jung was pushing himself too hard, but in the end, he gave in, realizing there was no changing his mind. He had even considered insisting on paying for at least the third year, knowing it would be the busiest, most demanding, and final stretch.
But apparently, Chae Yoo-jung had already thought that far ahead. He’d quietly saved enough money to cover it on his own, leaving Yoo Ji-han with nothing to do but worry.
Disappointed that his plan had fallen through, Yoo Ji-han’s shoulders slumped when Chae Yoo-jung told him the truth. He let out a small sigh before speaking.
“I didn’t think you had already saved that much money.”
However, Chae Yoo-jung assured Yoo Ji-han with a smile.
“Then you can plan and pay for our dates this year.”
He said lightly.
“I’ll probably be too busy to plan anything anyway.”
Yoo Ji-han stretched Chae Yoo-jung’s cheeks, and with how cheeky he was, he couldn’t help but sigh.
“Okay…Leave all the planning to me, then.”
And he truly meant it. Yoo Ji-han planned so many dates that Chae Yoo-jung eventually found himself wondering if there were any places left, they hadn’t explored together.
Now, back in the present, as soon as Chae Yoo-jung had finished the graduation ceremony and celebration, it was time to reconsider a lot of things. Of course, gaining more experience through internships was one priority, but there was something else weighing on his mind. He found himself thinking back to the pre-wedding shoot he had seen when he first arrived in Germany.
Lost in that memory, he realized just how quickly time had passed, time slipping by in what felt like the blink of an eye. And then, naturally, his thoughts drifted further back, to the very beginning, how he and Yoo Ji-han had first met, and the chance encounter at that wedding reception that had changed everything.
How they met again and again.
A game that brought them together...connecting them again.
Zenoris.
He had stopped playing it ever since he had come here.
Just thinking about it brought a bittersweet smile to his face. It was almost unbelievable that five years had already passed since everything began, from the moment they officially met to where he stood now. Words couldn’t fully capture the weight of nostalgia that settled in his chest. It all felt unreal, as though those memories belonged to someone else, as though this present reality was too improbable to be true.
Back then, he had been so miserable that he couldn’t imagine a future worth hoping for. He’d simply let the present drift forward, allowing it to turn into the future on its own, resigned to continuing a life he believed would never change.
If he hadn’t met Yoo Ji-han again in that game, he wondered what he would have been doing right now.
“Ha…… hahahaha.”
The laugh caught somewhere between relief and sorrow. Chae Yoo-jung felt like crying yet somehow didn’t. His throat went dry, and his hands trembled slightly small reminders that pulled him back to the present. He ran a hand through his hair, straightened his shirt in front of the mirror, and took a deep breath before heading out.
“There’s no longer a need to think of the past repeatedly. It’s fate.”
He murmured, letting his eyes follow the sunlight spilling across the floor, feeling the quiet stillness of the room settle around him.

Chae Yoo-jung gazed at the rings displayed on the poster outside the jewelry shop. A quiet smile tugged at his lips before he stepped inside.
“Hello… could you help me with some recommendations for a proposal ring?”
Chae Yoo-jung had prepared a pair of rings for the proposal. That evening, he and Yoo Ji-han dressed in elegant yet simple suits and planned a quiet dinner together at a cozy restaurant. They smiled and teased each other, their laughter blending with the soft clink of cutlery.
A perfectly cooked steak was served, and they ate happily, savoring both the food and the moment. Later, they joined a video call with friends from the past, sharing smiles and laughter that made the night feel even more special.
Under the scenery, of the soft glow of the streetlights, Yoo Ji-han sank to one knee and opened a small ring box. Chae Yoo-jung, watching him intently, quickly pulled his own ring set from his pocket and held it out in return.
Snowflakes drifted down around them, dusting their shoulders and breaking the tension of the moment with a quiet, magical stillness.
Then, a spiral of laughter bubbled up from both of them, filling the wintry night with warmth.
“You beat me to it…before I can.”
As he spoke, Chae Yoo-jung burst into tears, letting out a shaky sigh. The hand holding the ring box trembled, not just from the cold slowly creeping in from the snowy night, but from the fear and anticipation building inside him.
Yoo Ji-han gently wiped away Chae Yoo-jung’s tears. A soft, tender expression spread across his face, and without hesitation, he leaned in, letting his lips meet Chae Yoo-jung’s in a simple, reassuring gesture.
With a bright, relieved smile, Chae Yoo-jung spoke, his fear melting away.
“Let’s use both rings… my rings for the proposal, and yours for the wedding.”
Even as he said it, tears continued to stream down his cheeks. Hand in hand, Yoo Ji-han and Chae Yoo-jung walked home together, the snow crunching softly beneath their feet. Chae Yoo-jung leaned against Yoo Ji-han, finding comfort in his warmth, feeling that, at last, everything was exactly as it should be.
MR: Ahhh, finally! My cuties… they actually proposed!! I’m so happy for them.
