  • PASSION Prologue Part 4

Jeong Tae-ui is subtly challenging his uncle's reasoning.  I’m guessing that the uncle's real motivation for seeking a new member goes beyond the need for additional manpower. Despite the uncle's pause and the tense atmosphere, Jeong Tae-ui seems confident in his understanding of the situation. I understand that uncle is looking for someone with specific qualities, most likely related to luck or fortune, which I myself does not possess.   “In half a year, the director of our branch is going to the US headquarters. So, the two vice directors are secretly competing for that position. As you know, there's always infighting in any organization. Since I'm working under one of them, I'm caught in the middle. I have to help my direct superior get the director position. In other words, for the next six months, there's going to be intense internal battle within the branch. And in the midst of all that, there will be a lot of dirty tricks. So, what I need is someone who can survive all that.”   “My luck isn't so great.”   “Um------- it’s like saying a chicken instead of a pheasant . What do you think?” (the idiom  means ‘Well, it's better than nothing, I guess.’)   “What’s there to feel better about? Who would be happy to hear that it’s like saying a chicken instead of a pheasant in this scenario?” Jeong Tae-ui replied gruffly, but he wasn't particularly offended by the words themselves. If someone of Jeong Jae-ui's caliber was a pheasant, then being compared to a chicken was more than I could ask for. Jeong Jae-ui was that exceptional of a person. I only half-understood his uncle's words. The part Jeong Tae-ui grasped was, "It's something that will be a headache if I get involved." Even the term "factional strife" itself, and considering the place where his uncle was, it was almost like a military society, a direction Jeong Tae-ui, as he was now, didn't want to look towards.   “Isn’t uncle in the Asian branch?”   “That’s right.”   “If there's someone who wants to get in there and is luckier and more capable than me, there are as many as the stars in the sky if you look. Just go and pick anyone.”   “I've already told you everything, even the dirty secrets inside, so you shouldn't react like that after hearing it all.”   “Don't pretend it's a secret. Everyone knows about it already. Good luck sorting it out and getting that promotion.”   Jeong Tae-ui waved his hand dismissively, as if to end the conversation, and started to clear the empty plates. But his uncle grabbed his wrist firmly. Jeong Tae-ui clicked his tongue in annoyance. Judging by my uncle's serious expression, it seems like he is serious. This is going to make it difficult to say no.   “Uncle……. you know, this already. I can't do it.”   Jeong Tae-ui sighed loudly and muttered to himself. His uncle, taking a serious tone, asked.   “Give me a good reason why it won't work. If it’s reasonable, I'll consider someone else.”   “You know already.”   “I do……?”   I couldn’t understand what on earth this man was thinking.  Judging only by his words, there was no reason why Jeong Tae-ui had to be the necessary person. It’s not like he’s Jeong Jae-ui, but there are countless people like Jeong Tae-ui in the world.   “Uncle. I don’t like the military. I've already experienced enough of that authoritarian and closed-off environment.   “We aren’t the military. Sure, we do intense physical training, but our hierarchy and culture are completely different. Since we handle sensitive cases, it might seem closed-off, but it's not authoritarian. If you join, your superiors would be the director, two vice-directors, and six instructors. But you'll barely see the director or vice-directors. Everyone else is just a colleague. So, anything else?”   “……. and I'm not very strong.”   “I know you're all better now.”   “It's just that I don't have to go to the hospital, but my knees still ache and my body feels stiff when the weather is bad.”   “There’s no one like that there that isn’t like that. Everyone there has been shot at least once and broken a few bones, so is there anything else?”   “Also, I don't fit the qualifications my uncle has in mind. I'm just an ordinary person, neither lucky nor particularly skilled.”   Uncle narrowed his eyes again. After a brief, subtle glance at Jeong Tae-ui, he spoke slowly.   “I need someone who can follow orders well and stay alive for a long time. That said, I do think highly of you, Jeong Tae-ui. Even though I think I already know quite a bit about you, I've still taken the time to look over your records from the military academy to the present. You see, you have the most important thing to survive.”   “What’s that?”   “Tact.”   “…….”   Just when it seemed like the conversation was getting serious, an irrelevant word popped out. Jeong Tae-ui, who had been listening, expecting some sort of praise, felt deflated.   “Uncle……. Do you mean by Tact…….”   “Why are you disappointed?”   “I wouldn't say I'm disappointed------ yes, I am.”   Jeong Tae-ui slowly shook his head and mumbled, and his uncle chuckled softly.   “There's no need to be disappointed. While someone like Jae-yi has special luck, for most ordinary people, what's essential for survival is 'tact'. In other words, intuition. Depending on the situation, whether your intuition is slightly better or worse than others can determine life or death.”   His uncle's voice lowered slightly. After graduating from high school, I was working in a place where men and the smell of gunpowder mix, but I have never been in a place that separates life from death. All I did was train.   I had never experienced the countless life-and-death crossroads that my uncle had. The closest I had come to death was through an ordinary accident, not in the fierce struggles of life. Yet, I understand what my uncle meant by 'intuition'. ------ Credits: Translator: Hoshi Miya Editor/Proofreader: Tâmago We made a discord server! please join us!

  • That guy is This guy Chapter 113

    113.   It was Saturday that I had promised to meet Kim Dae-seok’s Noona, Kim Da-hee.   I wore a white T-shirt and a suit jacket and removed all piercings from my ears. After tidying up my hair, which had been left a mess because I was busy, I put a watch on my left wrist. I also wore a reasonably clean perfume.   After getting ready and heading out to the meeting place, not long after, a black sedan stopped in front of me.   “It’s been a while, Ji-han.”   “Hello.”   The passenger window rolled down and Kim Da-hee said a greeting. I opened the car door, sat in the passenger seat, fastened my seatbelt, and the car drove off.   “How many years has it been? 4 years? 5 years?”   “It seems like it’s been about five years.”   “Time flies. It seems like only yesterday that everyone was making a fuss about going to college. Do you think you’ve grown a bit taller?”   “It was farther than Dae-seok.”   When I answered appropriately, Kim Da-hee laughed and muttered playfully.   “That child shouldn’t grow any bigger.”   Kim Da-hee, whom I met for the first time in a while, was the same as before with her cheerful and bright personality. She swept her light brown hair over her shoulder, but unlike before, she had dyed her hair.   “Anyway, thank you for your help. I was in trouble because there was no one left.”   “Why? I also got some help from you and Dae-seok said you were going to buy me an expensive meal, right?”   “That’s true, but I’m a little annoyed that Kim Dae-seok said that.”   Kim Da-hee, raising the corners of her mouth slightly, said as she turned her steering wheel.   “The hotel I’m going to right now is a place my mom and I know well. If I show her that I’m eating with a man there and then ask about the result, let’s say that I didn’t like it.”   “It’s full plan proof.”   “I have to do this at least for my parents to realize that I am an unsellable girl and give up. I really want to marry my boyfriend now.”   The firm voice subtly softened when she said she wanted to get married. I felt that she truly loved her boyfriend, whom she had been seeing for three years.   Well, I guessed that meant they were trying this hard-to-get approval for the marriage. It looked really nice, but at the same time, I was jealous.   When we arrived at the hotel, she left her car with the staff, and we went up to the restaurant. I was guided to our reserved seat and sat across from Kim Da-hee.   “The course is romantic. Wine... Do you want a drink? I have to drive, so I will pass.”   “I will pass as well.”   “Then, please leave out the alcohol and prepare only the romantic course.”   “That’s fine with me too.”   While Kim Da-hee was ordering, I looked down at the night view of Seoul outside the window. The night view of the Han River with twinkling yellow lights made the atmosphere even better.   “The romantic course offered steak and pasta. It means I didn’t choose you because I had some strange feelings.”   As soon as the employee who took the order left, Kim Da-hee lowered her voice to a whisper and smiled. That sly attitude made me laugh comfortably too.   “I was almost excited.”   “You’re really good at lying even though you’re not really excited. And what is the age difference between you and me? I also have a conscience.”   “It’s only 7 years age gap.”   “I wouldn’t go out of my way to seduce a kid who is just graduating from college. Rather, are you going to get a job as soon as you graduate? Dae-seok said he was going to take a break.”   “We are preparing for public recruitment in the first half of the year. I don’t know yet whether it will work or not.”   “I don’t have anything to say because the path you are taking is so different. Still, prepare well and look forward to the results. Considering your personality, I think you’ve prepared well.”   “I’m trying hard.”   Although it had been a long time since they had seen each other, the conversation continued without much awkwardness. Soon, the course meal began to be served and the topic of conversation shifted from employment to marriage.   “If you turn 26 next year, marriage is still a long way away. Are you meeting anyone?”   “No, not right now.”   Not only now, but I also haven’t met anyone since Chae Yoo-jeong. I had no desire to meet anyone since I was also busy.   “Oh my. why? You must be very popular. You dated a lot when you were in high school, right?”   “…….”   I dated an incredible amount… Well, the people I dated change often.   “Maybe it’s because I’m busy, but I don’t have time to meet anyone.”    “Now that I think about it, you had a graduation exhibition not long ago, right? Then you can start dating again.”   “Well. I don’t have anyone good enough to do that.”   “Shall I introduce you? There are many nice and kind female employees at the company.”    “No. They won’t want to meet a student who is about to graduate because they want to sate something.”   “It’s not enough. They will welcome you with open arms.”   As I smiled awkwardly without answering, Kim Da-hee tactfully moved on to her own story.   “But since you are smart and have a good personality, I think you will meet the right person and get married. I couldn’t do that.”   “Haven’t you been dating your boyfriend for a long time?”   “That’s right. But before I met this person, I had a lot going on. Because of that experience, I couldn’t let go of this person.”   At that time, he was quietly listening to Kim Da-hee’s story. The door of the hotel elevator opened.   “No. What were you talking about?”   “The furniture for the newlyweds’ house. I’m thinking about what color to go for, what is your opinion?”   “Are you going to buy the furniture already?”   “Just choosing, just choosing.”   Kim Da-hee held up her cell phone and knocked a few times before handing it to him.   “What do you think? What looks best?”   A small storage cabinet appeared on the screen. At the same time, I could faintly hear the sound of a conversation taking place at the table behind us.   “I’ve prepared a position, so I’ll go abroad at the end of next year.”   “Oh my. Why are you doing this again, Aunt? He’s doing well.”   “I know that. But isn’t it true that it’s not something you can do for a long time? We need to prepare for the future.”   “Still, it’s too early to quit. Yoo-jeong is still in full bloom.”   “The person concerned must be confident. Why aren’t you saying anything?”   Despite the woman’s urging, Chae Yoo-jeong’s voice was not heard for a long time. I swallowed my dry saliva and returned the cell phone, which wasn’t given my full attention, to Kim Da-hee.   “I like beige… It looks the best.”   “Yes? I also think beige is best.”   “It’s good because we have similar tastes.”   I forced the corners of my mouth to smile at Kim Da-hee, who was purely happy. I couldn’t concentrate on the conversation. All my attention was focused on Chae Yoo-jeong, who was sitting behind us.   ‘I’m going crazy………………’   It was true that I was flustered by the presence of Chae Yoo-jeong, whom I met in an unexpected place, but I had no idea that it would bother me this much.   “I’m also thinking about this rug. Which one do you like better?”    “If it’s a rug to place in the living room, it’s the second one. It looks decent.”   “Okay. This? I’ll put it in the bedroom.”    “It’s apricot colored.”   I answered Kim Da-hee’s questions appropriately and ate the food by mechanically moving my hands. I was so focused on choosing the furniture that Kim Da-hee showed me that I didn’t know whether the food went into my mouth or my nose.   The messy dinner continued for about an hour. After putting as much food on it as I could, I got up and followed Kim Da-hee, feeling stuffy.   “Let’s go. I’ll take you home.”   Kim Da-hee walked ahead, putting on her coat that she had taken off. I followed her and looked back for the first time.   The back of Chae Yoo-jeong was seen sitting upright in his chair. Even though the food was placed in front of him, he didn’t move his hand at all.   “…….”   I couldn’t watch for long. I barely looked away from Chae Yoo-jeong and walked towards the elevator where Kim Da-hee was waiting.   “I didn’t hold you back too long, did I?”   “It can’t be. I had a delicious dinner.”   “Let’s meet Dae-seok again later when we have time. I’ll buy you something delicious.”   When I crossed the hall on the first floor of the hotel and came out to the entrance, a car was already waiting.   It was the moment when Kim Da-hee, who had gotten her car keys out, sat in the driver’s seat and I was also about to get into the passenger seat.   “Hyung………………!”   HM: I actually wanna translate the next chapter (This is the 3rd chapter I translate in one day aaaah…. • I Tamed the First Rank Chapter 45

In Yoo-shin squatted down in front of the white flames that had been slit open so that only one person could pass through, and looked up at the sky. Hyeon Gyu-ha was still absent. I was worried, and I also wanted to see him. Hyeon Gyu-ha was always the one who got restless when we couldn’t see each other, but this time, our positions seemed to have changed. In Yoo-shin, who was fiddling with the poison essence in his pocket, made up his mind. ‘Let’s go find it first. Since I have the poison essence I got from Team Leader Choi, I’ll be able to escape even if I run into the demons.’ In Yoo-shin waited for Lee Hye-yeon, who had gone out to look around, to return, and then got up from his seat. “Are you going to the bathroom?” “Yes.” “Do you want me to come with you?” “You just came back from dealing with the monsters. I'll be back soon." As the time spent staying became longer, it was impossible to not go to the bathroom at all. That's why the hunters calculated the timing of the monster's respawn and were clearing the path to the portable bathroom on one side of the playground. He pretended to go to the bathroom and slipped away. Since all the hunters were guarding the playground, it was easy to find Hyeon Gyu-ha's whereabouts. Even if the monsters within the erosion gate are hunted, their bodies are not left behind. The monsters’ remains are slowly absorbed and disappear. So In Yoo-shin only had to follow the remains of the monsters outside the stadium that had not yet been absorbed. Since he had been killing time sitting in the stands, there were a lot of demons’ remains nearby. The remains were connected again. Along the stairs of the stands. Past the hallway on the first floor. Past the parking lot. Outside, outside, into a cross-section of the world dominated by darkness. Hyeon Gyu-ha’s back was visible, facing complete darkness. Hyeon Gyu-ha’s hand, which had pulled something out of the inventory, glowed with blood as he took a big step forward. “Gyu……………!” Before he could even call out, Gyu-ha’s tall back disappeared into the darkness. “Gyu-ha -ssi !” He called out late and chased after him, but there was not even a trace of Hyeon Gyu-ha. Had he been sucked into that darkness? I panicked and felt the cross-section of the darkness. There was nothing. In Yoo-shin, who existed in a world without color, could not even touch the darkness. This boundary was not simply a standard for dividing black and white, but a severance of the world. 'Huh, what should I do? Should I tell my Nunim(older sister)?' In Yoo-shin's eyes widened as he turned away in confusion. Before he knew it, a monster had been created. "Ugck!" He took out the poison essence and threw it. The essence shattered, and a harmless poisonous mist spread out, and the demonic beast twisted and melted the amorphous body. Luckily, he defeated one, but another one extended its sharp tentacles on the car beyond the reach of the poisonous mist. He rolled reflexively and avoided being impaled by the tentacles, but he couldn't stop his cheeks from getting cut. His back hit the cross-section of the darkness. Blood flowed from the tentacles that cut his skin. A drop of blood splashed onto the border of the world. The darkness swallowed Inyushin. Where is this place? In Yoo-shin groaned and pressed his forehead. The feeling of dizziness that was unique to passing through the gate was like a hundred times overlapping, and it rang in his ears. In Yoo-shin, who barely managed to suppress his groan and opened his eyes, was greatly surprised. It was all dark. Absolute darkness, neither right nor left, up nor down, enveloped him. No. Am I really seeing darkness? Am I really opening my eyes? Is my dead brain making an illusion? I can’t see darkness. I can’t feel darkness. I can’t sense darkness. Am I in darkness? Am I in darkness? Before his lost five senses were crushed by darkness. 【Don’t be too surprised.】 With a soft woman’s voice, he gradually regained his senses. I could see my fingers wandering, my feet pacing anxiously, and eventually darkness appeared in my eyes. In the strange darkness where there was a light source without shade, like a black and white world, there was a woman smiling at me. 【It’s been a while, little baby. I didn’t know I’d see you again.】 A woman wearing long clothes that had become one with darkness greeted him with a kind expression. The moment his eyes met hers, the sense of foreboding that had been whispering in his head suddenly popped up. I knew this woman, no, not exactly the same, but similar……………. 【Aah, it wasn’t these clothes back then.】 As the woman stuttered slightly, the clothes that had blended into the darkness turned into half a gorgeous gown that shone like jewels, and half a tattered, worn-out rag. In Yoo-shin groaned and sank down. I had met this woman before. It had been so long since that memory had easily worn away and been erased from the immature cognition of a child. The woman greeted him as if it were the first time. 【Little child. It has only been 19 years in your world’s time.】 “………………Who are you?” 【I am one of the three gods of Urshitoare who govern fate. Please call me the third Urshitoare.】 “A-a god?” Although it was only a mere false image, In Yoo-shin had witnessed a fragment of a god.  Even if it was only a fragment, that false image felt an overwhelming sense of incomparable power to a human. However, I could not feel anything from this woman, the third Urshitoare. Even though she was right before my eyes, her presence was transparent, like seeing a shadow reflected on a lake. 'Did I go crazy because of that darkness?' The third Ursitoare, who reached out her hand toward the head of the even more confused Inyushin, narrowed his eyes. 【Little baby, you have met the false god. Poor Atabeyra. This body is not the true body either, so it is natural for you to misunderstand. I am not a manifestation of the human world, but a projection of a shadow from your long-standing memory.】 "My memory…………..?" 【That's right. Didn't you meet me once in this space?】 We met before. We have met. Gate. Black and white. Darkness. Darkness. Darkness. Beyond that. A noble king's clothes and a woman in shabby rags. Holding the boy's hand tightly with her trembling hands. The boy. That boy. "Ah!" In Yoo-shin looked around urgently. "Was there anyone else here besides me? A man much taller than me, wearing black clothes..……………! His hair is light golden brown." 【Are you looking for the king's son?】 "Yes? The King's Son?" The third Ursitoare quietly winked at a corner of the empty space. In contrast, it was a static movement. Where her gaze was directed, the darkness opened transparently as if it had been wiped away, and Hyeon Gyu-ha's figure was revealed. “Gyu-ha- ssi !” He ran in a hurry, but that was it. Just like the image on TV, Hyeon Gyu-ha couldn’t hear his voice, and he couldn’t reach Hyeon Gyu-ha either. 【Gyu-ha (奎霞), La.】 The third Ursitoare muttered slowly, recalling the name. 【That was the name the child’s mother gave him. A star so far away. A longing for a world that can’t be reached. It’s such a cruel name for a child.】 “………………Do you know Gyu-ha -ssi ?” In Yoo-shin carefully asked, and her words, “the son of the king,” lingered in his mind. At the same time, he remembered. Another hidden trait of Hyeon Gyu-ha that had been obscured by the strong image of his “vampire traits.” The illegitimate child of the king. When I had asked about that trait before,I had only heard a joke that his father was the king. That’s why I couldn’t ask more. 【Then, I know. I knew before that child was born? The moment the child was conceived in the mother's womb, all the gods of our world saw that place.】 The third Ursitoare murmured sadly, like a fairy's hum. 【The last cornerstone supporting the ending world. He is the only child of the last king of our world, 'Iard'.】 Gyu-ha- ssi . Hyeon Gyu-ha suddenly turned around at the sound of a voice that seemed to come from somewhere. However, there was still darkness, indistinguishable in front and behind. 'There's no way you could follow me this far...……………. Am I hallucinating?' Hyeon Gyu-ha scoffed, feeling ashamed that he was now hearing hallucinations. Still, just in case, he tried to raise the coordinates. He couldn't see In Yoo-shin's location. 'Well, it's only natural that the connection would be cut off if you enter here.' Just as the radio waves outside the gate don't reach the inside of the gate, this darkness is also a boundary that divides the world. 'Iard……………….  As expected, the pronunciation doesn't break here.' A fragment of a world that was quietly destroyed. The leader of the unprepared gate. All of these are the gates he had experienced 19 years ago. So this darkness was also a boundary that could not be entered without ®ÀÇ, or the pendant containing Iard's blood. It is impossible for a human being to enter. In the first place, he would not have been able to pass through the gaps of the monsters and come here alone. Hyeon Gyu-ha closed his eyes for a while and then opened them. His vision brightened, and before his eyes, a strange creature that was half dog and half human was dancing around, laughing. ------ Credits: Translator: Hoshi Miya Editor/Proofreader: Support on KOFI: chapter 46, 47, 48, 49, 50 If you wanna become an editor or proofreader, please use the discord link given below and follow the instructions in the recruit channel. • PASSION Prologue Part 3

Although Jeong Tae-ui wasn't at all pleased to see him, he couldn't ignore his uncle's request for food when he said he was hungry. Reluctantly, Jeong Tae-ui scooped another bowl of rice and placed it on the half-eaten meal. His appetite had vanished long ago, but he sat down opposite his uncle at the table anyway.   “What’s with this sad meal?”   His uncle chuckled when he saw the simple meal of barley rice, clear soup, and a few side dishes.   “What do you expect from a poor young man who lives alone? Uncle’s army only serves fancy meals it seems.”   “Of course. If life is already tough and the food is bad too, there's going to be a riot. But I don't work for the military.”   “Well, from what I heard, it’s not much different from the military. If the rumors are true, then it’s harsher than the military.”   “Still, people are lining up from the other side of the world to get in. Even the name itself is respectable, the United Nations Human Resources Development Organization.”   “I already said this before but I can’t memorize such a long name.”   “Having a simple meal like this for the first time in a long time isn’t so bad,” his uncle rambled on, making it unclear whether he was praising or complaining about the food. Watching his uncle, Jeong Tae-ui sighed and picked up his spoon again. I don’t think I have an appetite after I put my chopsticks down once. I guess I’ll just have a few spoonfuls of soup and call it a day.   While he was scooping up some clear soup, his gaze suddenly stopped at the chopsticks moving in front of him.  I've thought this before a long time ago, but uncle holds his chopsticks so nicely. The way his hands move when he holds his chopsticks is elegant. It’s similar to Hyung’s.   While thinking such thoughts, Jeong Tae-ui looked up at his uncle's face. His neat appearance, and in some ways, gentle nature resembles Hyung as well.   Of course, he resembles him. After all, he’s our father genetically speaking. Though I don't resemble him.   “Isn’t it my Hyung’s 3 year memorial next month?”   Even though there was no way he would have known what Jeong Tae-ui was thinking about, his uncle suddenly blurted out.   “Yes. It’s on the 20th day of the lunar calendar. Are you coming?”   “I don’t think I can.”   Come to think of it, the last time I saw Uncle Chang-in was at Father's funeral. He hasn't come since, not even for memorial services, but I understand because he's such a busy person. To Jeong Tae-ui, this person was a bothersome and inconvenient guest, but in reality, he was someone who received excellent treatment wherever he went in the world.   “I don't know when Hyung will be back, but should I tell him to contact uncle when he comes?”   Even though I knew it would be faster if my uncle just hired someone to look for him, I asked anyway. Of course, my lucky Hyung would never be found if the outcome was likely to be bad for him.   “No…… we don't have a lot of time.”   Having quickly finished a bowl of rice, the uncle wiped his mouth with his fingertips and mumbled. Then he stared intently at Jeong Tae-ui.   A chill ran down my spine as a bad feeling I had forgotten about came back again.   “Jeong Tae-ui.”   “Uncle……. I don't know why you're looking for Hyung, but you know how different he and I are, right? He's the kind of person who wouldn't even understand a chemical formula that my brother solved when he was five, even if you put it right in front of him.”   Jeong Tae-ui quickly responded gruffly, and his uncle, as he had before, slightly squinted his eyes, seeming amused.   “You know that originally, between you and Jae-ui, one of you was supposed to be my child, right?”   The words that the uncle uttered were a topic that Jeong Tae-ui had never expected. No matter what words he had spoken, it would have been unexpected, but I hadn't expected him to say something like that in this context.  Jeong Tae-ui looked at his uncle and sighed as he spoke.   “Well. It’s not just one of us. Both of us are your sons, genetically. I already know that. Why did you bring that up?”   It's not a secret. It's something I heard directly from my father when I was young. I guess he thought we were old enough to understand. He sat us down and explained it slowly. He told us he couldn't have children of his own, so he and my uncle had arranged for us to be born.   Nothing much changed. My father was still my father, my uncle was still my uncle. It's a fact that there can be many truths to a single event.   However, at that time, my father also said, ‘So, if your uncle ever says something strange later on, give him the benefit of the doubt and just do as he says.’   It wasn't entirely because of those words, but because of our father's advice, we brothers followed our uncle well. In fact, except for the occasional trouble he caused, our uncle was a cheerful and good person. But Father, in heaven, you know how our uncle often says strange things.   “No, not both, but one. We knew you were twins before you were even born, and my Hyung said he would give me one of you. So originally, you guys were supposed to be separated at birth and grow up as cousins. ……But because the two of you were so attached to each other right from birth, I gave up on taking one of you, so you two avoided being separated.” Look, your uncle is saying something strange again. When Jeong Tae-ui looked at him with disbelief, sensing his gaze, the uncle immediately turned serious. He is emphasizing, 'It's true, I'm telling you,' but he seemed a bit suspicious. I had a feeling he might be exaggerating a bit.   Perhaps Dad didn't want to directly tell us that he had agreed to give one of us to my uncle. Could that be the strange thing he was talking about? I remember now, after a pause, he quietly added...   Then my father was silent for a while and then added in a low voice,   ‘When the time comes, you should treat your uncle as if he were your father.’   He said "When the time comes, you should do so" . I wonder if he meant when the uncle requests of it.   I can't say for sure. But since Dad agreed with this, I’m not going to argue against it. And my Hyung, if he were here, would probably agree with me as well. Jeong Tae-ui is pretty easygoing. You could say he's good at going with the flow or adapting to new situations.   “Yes, uncle……. Unfortunately, my cousin just went out. Should I tell him to give you a call when he gets back?”   When Jeong Tae-ui spoke, the uncle laughed out loud. His smiling face resembles that of Hyung. In fact, if they look like that, there would be no difficulty in saying that he is the biological father. In fact, they seem to have similar personalities.   By the way, Jae-ui will be surprised when he comes back this time that he has a new dad. Or, maybe he won’t be surprised. J eong Tae-ui didn’t remember seeing his Hyung surprised by anything, at least showing his surprise in appearance.   “There's no time to look for someone who's not here. From today on, Tae-ui, you're my son. Let's go together. Pack your things. They'll give you everything else you need there, so just pack the essentials lightly.”   Uncle, rubbing his chin in a somewhat amused manner, spoke. There was a hint of laughter in his voice. However, Jeong Tae-ui, who heard those words, wasn't amused at all. Hearing such strange remarks about a romantic relationship, almost back-to-back on the same day, is a rare experience for me, but it isn't a pleasant one.   “Me?”   “Yes, Jeong Tae-ui. My son.”   It felt as if a heavy burden was about to be placed on my shoulders. It was then that Jeong Tae-ui, with a serious expression, looked directly at his uncle and frowned.   Not only is it strange that my uncle, who has never said a word until now, suddenly appears and claims the rights of a father, but what could be the reason for a single uncle, who has been living well without a wife, suddenly needing a son?   “Can’t I not follow you?”   “Fulfill your filial duty to me, my son.”   “I’d rather not, Dad. Can’t I just be a bad son?”   Uncle laughed heartily. There was a significant age gap between Uncle and Father, so the difference in age between Uncle and Father was only three years less than the difference between Uncle and Jeong Tae-ui. Because of this, Uncle felt more like an older brother than an uncle.   Uncle laughed heartily and then got up and approached Jungtae. He then suddenly slapped Jungtae, who was looking at him suspiciously. It was a violent act that could hardly be described by the cute term 'love tap'.   “Ouch!”   Jeong Tae-ui glared at him, covering his head with his hands in annoyance, but the uncle continued to smile calmly and said.   “This ungrateful brat, I went to all the trouble of getting you discharged from the military, and not only do you not show any gratitude, you dare speak about not doing your filial duties? You deserve a few more punches.”   “Ow! Ah! Ack! It hurts, uncle! That really hurts!”   Even his hands are as hot as my Hyung's. Hyung would be a better fit to be this man's son after all. His Hyung, due to his naturally languid personality, had nothing to do with violence, but whenever he patted Jeong Tae-ui on the back to wake him from a daze or slapped him to wake him from being sleep-paralyzed, his hands felt extremely hot.   After giving Jeong Tae-ui a good beating, the uncle rubbed his hands as if nothing had happened and calmly sat back down. Jeong Tae-ui rubbed his beaten head and muttered sullenly.   “I was wondering why I was discharged when I still had time left in my mandatory military service?…… Did uncle help me?”   “ Unn . Yes. That's what Jae-ui said. That his younger brother, who is physically and mentally being torn apart, is crying in the military.”   “……. What…… That’s even more dramatic.”   I almost died in the military hospital, and all the guys around me picked fights with me, so I did go through some mental anguish, but to say I was completely torn apart……, …… I guess maybe I was.   The problem was that I ended up being assigned to the same unit as the guys I hated the most from the military academy. It ended with me almost killing someone and almost getting killed myself. I was discharged, and now we have completely cut off all contact. I don't want to think about it anymore, and there's nothing left to think about.   Jeong Tae-ui sighed quietly, feeling depressed as forgotten memories resurfaced. Four months ago, I was discharged from the military and is currently unemployed. Although my leg still aches on bad days, it's fully healed now, and my overall health is good. Just when I was thinking it was time to start doing something.   “Okay. So why do you suddenly need a son? Where are you planning to send him?”   When Jeong Tae-ui asked in a somewhat subdued tone, his uncle managed a smile that was anything but playful.   “A son is fine with me anyway since I don’t care much. The point is, I need someone useful. We lost a lot of people in a big fight with the European branch recently. We need to fill up the numbers.”   “…….”   “……that's just an excuse. The truth is, I need someone who's lucky.”   ------ Credits: Translator: Hoshi Miya Editor/Proofreader: Tâmago We made a discord server! please join us!

  • My Younger Brother is a Hero Chapter 120

    120. The horribly distorted image made her feel sick. It was much more disgusting and fearful than normal monsters. This was a monster that can be touched. “Gasp!” Amber fell from Tiamat in disgust. Seeing her like that, Tiamat giggled at her. "What do you think?" "There's nothing that can be salvaged. It's just a monster." "Then you're saying there's no need to keep her alive." “…Yes." As soon as the words fell, the guild members waiting on both sides struck Tiamat on the head with their weapons. She didn't break at once, so they repeated the same action until she died. So she died in vain. "Let’s pull out its heart as well just in case." Even after confirming that she was not breathing, Seon-woo thoroughly checked. It seemed that he, like Amber, was the type to feel relieved when it was resolved clearly. Meanwhile, people started pouring in. They hid when the dragon was rampaging, but now that it was safe, they revealed themselves. “Go back.” Seon-woo said so with a calm expression. At the same time, the guild members of the Seon-hyeon Guild began to move quickly. “It’s a bit of a waste.” To abandon the dragon's corpse and secure the information, which can become a weapon. After that, he quickly got into the prepared car. 'I'll miss it if I continue like this!' Thinking so, Amber gathered the courage and got into the car together. Yul-mu, riding behind her, looked surprised, but he pretended not to know. It was based on the judgment that he would not pull it down because he was in a hurry right now. And that judgment was right. "Let’s go!" With the sound of a cheerful woman's voice, the car cut through the crowd and started off. The car, which ran for a long time, defeated the pursuit of those who quietly followed and arrived at a place deep in the mountains. The car doors opened one by one and guild members poured out. “Okay then, let’s get some rest before we go on to the next one!” After the woman said that, the guild members took their seats and began to rest. After checking, the woman came to the last car and said to Amber. “And, cute lady, would you like to talk with me?” "I'm not old enough to be called cute." “Anyone who looks younger than me is cute.” “I think you look way cuter.” “Oh my, is that so?” “Don’t be fooled. She is a witch.” When Yul-mu grumbled, the woman strangled him with her forearm. "Ack! Ack!" “Now then, shall we introduce ourselves seriously? My name is Lena. I’m a team leader of the Seon-hyeon Guild. There are people stronger than me, but they don't talk much, so I'll be in charge of you. What's your name?" “My name is Amber. I work for the Guardian Guild, in the Information Department." "Wow. But how did you get involved in this?" “It just happened.” "Wait! First of all, talk to the Guild Leader.” Lena pointed to the tent that had been erected before she knew it. "Yes, that’s great" Amber took a deep breath and stepped out. "Long time no see." Seon-woo greeted Amber. "Is that so?" Amber smiled bitterly. After that, she sat down in the prepared chair and explained step by step what had happened. The fact that she felt uncomfortable with Hyeon-woo being a villain, that she went to her grandmother for help, the fact that she visited the branch and found a strange laboratory with Yul-mu, etc… “The data is here.” Yul-mu held out the storage device and camera. "They're doing terrible experiments inside." "There’s an experiment like this at the Guardian Guild's branch, huh." Seon-woo lightly tapped the desk with his finger. “We still don’t know much yet. Maybe this is the only place like this.” Even after she learned that she shouldn't trust the entire Guardian Guild, words of advocacy came out without her knowledge. “Then we might want to look further. It happened that I had also researched the places I was going to guess. So Amber, what are you going to do about it? Are you planning to move along with us in the future?” “Yes, because I accompanied you for that same reason.” Looking at Amber’s determined face, Seon-woo nodded. Being with Amber didn't hurt him either. First of all, she was a member of the Guardian Guild's Intelligence Department, so she must have a lot of knowledge. So far, things had been going well. Now all he had to do was execute this properly. *** Do-jin's work was different from Seon-woo's. If Seon-woo found the hidden secrets of Guardian Guild and Leon, Do-jin's job was to check Hyeon-woo's safety and keep an eye on Leon. That was why he set up a lodging not far from the headquarters and went to work at the cafe in front of it every day. There was a high probability of being caught because it was a revealing job, but it was difficult not to be caught in the first place. Leon was always watching his surroundings keenly, and he quickly caught Do-jin's shadow. But he didn't get rid of the shadows. He smiled and left it as it was. He seemed to say, “You can watch if you want to watch.” Leon's life was simple: Training, or hunting monsters. That was all. To him, he seemed like a role model student, where no trouble would ever exist. There was no suspicious person appearing around, and he did not do anything suspicious. But for the first time today. There was a different movement than usual. “Here you are, Leon-nim.” There was a small square house in the center of a large space. To be precise, it looked more like a rather large box than a house. All sides were blocked and the entrance was in the front, with two Awakened are guarding it. 'At least A Class or higher.' Even if they were weaker than the S class, it won't be easy to take it down silently in one shot. “I stopped by to ask a question. Can I come in?” “Yes, as much as you like.” After a short conversation, the two put their hands on the door at the same time. Only then did the door open, and its thickness was considerable. Leon bent over and pushed himself through the entrance. In the meantime, Do-jin also managed to narrowly put the shadows together. 'Hyeon-woo!' There was a large chair on the opposite wall inside, and Hyeon-woo was confined to it. “I guess the guy, who never does anything, came?” It seemed that his mouth was not closed. Hyeon-woo's voice came. Do-jin covered his mouth with his hand. His voice was low, as if he were tired. Anger made his body tense. “It’s not like I can’t do anything. That’s too much.” Leon smiled kindly and sat down on the chair opposite him. “So what are you doing today? Didn’t Ainas visit already?” “It’s not Ainas. Her name is Anais. Are you already confused about the name?" "Ah yeah. So, did you visit me just to say something like that?” Hyeon-woo let out a chuckle. "Okay. Then just state your business?” “Not exactly. I just came to talk to you.” “What do you want to talk about?” "For example." Leon's gaze touched the shadow for a moment and then fell. “How about giving up right now?” “Haven’t I heard enough about that? We talked about it several times already. So let's talk about something else." “Then what about that one?” A white finger pointed to the corner. Hyeon-woo's gaze moved accordingly. “Someone you like is peeping inside.” “You brought him in on purpose.” Hyeon-woo's expression turned cold. "That's right. You already know that I am up to something, but you didn't know it would be so blatant. If you put a shadow like that, even I can't help but notice it. Isn't Leon quite strong in the human realm?" “Don’t pretend to be human.” "I'm pretending to be human. Am I a strict person now? Even if you ask passers-by, they will all give you the same answer. Rather, how about saying hello to an acquaintance you haven't seen in a while? So I tell them that you’re fine and not to be too sad.” “Stop being disgustingly considerate.” “That’s too sad. I’m doing it for you.” After saying that, Leon got up from his seat and went closer to Hyeon-woo. Then, he took off the glove he was wearing and stroked Hyeon-woo's cheek with his bare hand. Hyeon-woo turned his head and tried to bite his finger, but he couldn't succeed due to his short distance. “Oh my, you’re too violent.”  This time, he petted his hair like he was petting a dog. “As soon as I’m released, I’ll kill you first.” Hyeon-woo growled and said. “I look forward to that.” Leon tapped his head and pulled back. It was because the shadow that had been watching all along aggressively stabbed him. “It seems that he doesn't like me touching you.” “Who would like that?” “I also quite like doing things that others say I don’t like. Oh, it's already time for the next schedule. Then see you next time.” With those words, Do-jin's vision turned black for a moment. The shadow that Leon sent in was removed. Smash. Do-jin gnashed his teeth and hit the table. People around them were taken aback by the sight of the table split in two in an instant, but he was nowhere to be seen. • That guy is This guy Chapter 112

    112.   -Think carefully about what I just said and what I meant.   Yoo Ji-han’s firm voice kept repeating in his ears.   -This is not fate, Chae Yoo-jeong.   Chae Yoo-jeong, who had been standing alone for a while, let out a helpless laugh. He felt like everything that supported him was falling apart.   ‘Hyung, do you think?…………..’   It’s gross?   The words he couldn’t ask because he was scared were scattered in vain.   Chae Yoo-jeong knew very well why it was scary to ask. He’s afraid the answer will be yes...……………   Chae Yoo-jeong blinked slowly and immediately turned his back and walked back to the window. The spring breeze that blew through the crack in the window passed by Chae Yoo-jeong’s tear-stained cheeks.   He could see Yoo Ji-han’s back leaving the hospital building through the light green leaves. Chae Yoo-jeong looked at Yoo Ji-han with an expressionless face that showed no emotion.   ‘If it’s going to be like this, I would rather...……………..’   Wouldn’t it be okay to do whatever I want? Anyway, Hyung still hates me.   Take Yoo Ji-han to my house. And what if I put multiple locks on the door so he can never get out again?   No, that’s not enough. Yoo Ji-han’s resistance will not be easy. then………   Should I at least put shackles on his ankles? If I add a cloth to make it less painful... I think it’ll be okay. Make the lines as long as possible so he doesn’t feel stuffy.    Moving house wasn’t a bad idea. Moving to a higher floor is better. We need to make the window bigger so that Yoo Ji-han, who cannot go outside, can look outside at any time.   Yoo Ji-han is popular and has a family, so if he disappears, it will be noisy for a while... If I ask a woman, she will handle it appropriately. Then I can stay with Yoo Ji-han all day without worrying.   The first year or two will be difficult. Still, I will gradually get used to it. That’s how Yoo Ji-han doesn’t go out and just looks at me. Eat the food I give him, wear the clothes… Receive only the affection I give him...……………   “…….”   Chae Yoo-jeong opened his eyes wide. Cold sweat ran down the side of his pale face.   His trembling hand lifted and covered his mouth. His gasps, the rough sound of his breathing as if he was being strangled, came out of his mouth with difficulty. His frantic thoughts were cut off.   “No………………”   He buried his miserably distorted face in his hands.   This wasn’t it. I didn’t love Yoo Ji-han for this reason. I don’t love him.   “Ah………….”   Chae Yoo-jeong’s body briefly swayed as he lowered his head. Cold sweat broke out on his pale face.   Dirty and disgusting guy. What’s the point of washing the outside no matter how much I wash it when the inside is rotten?   The stench radiating from inside him made him nauseous .   He knew long ago that his head was not normal. He also knew that his obsession had grown so big that he could no longer handle it.   But I couldn’t even imagine that that obsession would go in this direction toward Yoo Ji-han. I felt so terrible that I had already ruined my relationship with Yoo Ji-han due to my greed and was dreaming of the worst.   It was when Chae Yoo-jeong leaned his upper body against the window frame and gasped for breath that Yoo Gyeong-seok, who returned to the hospital room after talking with Seo Tae-young in the hallway, found Chae Yoo-jeong and came running to him in panic.   “Chae Yoo-jeong! Why are you like this? Does your head hurt?”   “……I’m okay.”   “Like you’re okay, you look like a corpse right now! Wait a minute.”   Chae Yoo-jeong strongly grabbed the arm of Yoo Gyeong-seok, who was about to go to call someone and call a nurse. Chae Yoo-jeong barely raised his head and opened his parched lips.   “I’ll take it.”   “What?”   “Counseling… I’ll take it. I’ll take the medicine again. Please schedule the counseling right away.”   Yoo Gyeong-seok, who was looking at Chae Yoo-jeong in surprise, soon put on a worried expression and grabbed him by the shoulders.   “Are you really okay? Why are you doing this all of a sudden?”   “…… It became necessary.”   Yoo Gyeong-seok, who was looking at Chae Yoo-jeong, who was making incomprehensible noises, let out a deep sigh.   “I’m glad you changed your mind… No, I’ll stop talking. Let’s get counseling first and then talk. You’re in such a bad shape right now.”   “…….”   “But tomorrow will be difficult. First, let’s finish the hospitalization and go get counseling. I’ll make a reservation in advance. Don’t miss the medicine and take it as soon as you get it...………….”   Chae Yoo-jeong closed his eyes while listening to Yoo Gyeong-seok’s words. He felt his heart pounding hard.   Everything around him was losing light at a rapid rate. Just like when he was young, the world became black and white.   In it, Chae Yoo-jeong naturally realized something. Now he has to face the reality that he may never see Yoo Ji-han again...……………   ***   Time passed quickly again.   As I entered my fourth year and was about to graduate. Before, I met Chae Yoo-jeong in April, and had been busy dealing with him. Now, I was completely busy preparing for exams scheduled for two months and the graduation exhibition that would begin in November.   I couldn’t rest even during vacation. I almost didn’t have enough time to play games due to job preparation, part-time work, and studying for certifications.   After spending such a hectic day, I would sometimes get so tired that my head would hurt. Then, strangely enough, Chae Yoo-jeong came to mind.   ‘I’m sure that he’s doing well.’   Even if he came to mind, there wasn’t a single piece of news about Chae Yoo-jeong that I knew of. I had no intention of finding out either.   With what feelings did I say my final goodbye to him in the hospital room... I just hoped that Chae Yoo-jeong would understand someday.   The summer, which was so hot that it was suffocating for me, passed and autumn came, with fallen leaves fluttering about. Putting the final changes on the graduation work meant I spent six days a week at school.   The graduation exhibition, which took time to prepare, ended safely before the weather got cold in earnest. After the graduation exhibition, which was like the biggest event, ended in December, my schedule became quite free, as if me being busy had been a lie all along.   To begin with, I was in his fourth year, so the number of classes I was taking wasn’t that many, but since I didn’t have to spend time creating works, I had more time than I had before. Of course, I still had to prepare for a job, but it was worth taking a breather for now.   This was the first time I heard about Chae Yu-jeong. It was confirmed through a news article on a portal site that the LVS team won the championship at the HOL World Championships held in Canada.   In the photo included in the article, Chae Yoo-jeong was smiling brightly, looking better than before. When I saw it, I felt both sad and happy.   I smiled bitterly and turned off the portal site where the article was posted.   ***   I headed to a cafe to kill time between classes with Kim Dae-seok and Eun Hae-seong, who were both going to school like me. Kim Dae-seok, who had been sitting for a while without even touching his drink for some reason, called me.   “Hey, Yoo Ji-han.”   “What.”   As I answered indifferently without taking my eyes off my phone, Kim Dae-seok, who was watching me, asked me carefully.   “Would you like to be introduced to a date?”   “What’s with the sudden introduction? Are you becoming more like Eun Hae-seong?”   “Eh?”   Eun Hae-seong, who, like me, was concentrating on his cell phone, looked up when his name was mentioned.   “Just once! Can’t you just go back after eating?”   Despite my indifferent attitude, Kim Dae-seok asked me again with an earnest expression, grasping at a straw.   I was a bit surprised because I had never seen Kim Dae-seok, unlike Eun Hae-seong, do something like this before.   “Who is it?”   “You also… know that person well.”   “So who?”   “…… My Noona.”   I looked at Kim Dae-seok with an absurd feeling. Eun Hae-seong, who was sitting next to me and listening to the conversation, had a reaction not much different from mine.   “Are you crazy?”   “I’d rather go crazy.”   “Aaaah,” Kim Dae-seok suddenly let out a scream and held his head with both hands. Why is he like this, this bastard?   “It’s not a date in that sense. No, it’s a date, but… how do I explain it. Can’t you just do it once, just pretend that you’re getting my Noona to buy you an expensive meal?”   “Explain it properly.”   If she was Kim Dae-seok’s older sister, I would have known her well. Unlike Kim Dae-seok, she had a pretty appearance and was also smart, so she was working as a researcher at a large company.   I received a lot of help from Kim Dae-seok’s Noona when we were studying for the college entrance exam ahead of the entrance exam. I haven’t had much time to see her since I entered college.   “Actually, Noona has someone she wants to marry. It’s already been over three years since they started dating.”   Kim Dae-seok let out a deep sigh and slowly began to explain.   It is said that Kim Dae-seok’s parents, who come from a fairly wealthy family, have never liked their daughter’s boyfriend for a long time. They thought they would break up after a while of dating, so she didn’t really interfere, but things changed when marriage came up.   “Because I can’t persuade my parents with words, Noona continues to receive introductions as my parents want. But since she can’t really meet strangers, she’s gathering friends she knows and getting help...………………”   “I guess she’s run out of friends?”   “Uh-huh. She asked me to introduce her to someone... It’s really fucking hard. What friends do I have to just ask for something like that? There is only you.”   “What about me? I absolutely love that kind of thing!”   Eun Hae-seong joined in with a face full of anticipation. Kim Dae-seok, who quickly became haggard as he explained, looked at the excited Eun Hae-seong with wide eyes.   “Please, what should you do with that damn hair? If you are being introduced for the purpose of marriage, does it make sense for the other man to be blonde?”   “What’s wrong with being blonde? Yoo Ji-han also has a bunch of piercings in his ears.”   “Shut up. Anyway, Yoo Ji-han, could you do it just once? My Noona calls me every day and nags me, and I’m really exhausted.”   “Really. You really just have to eat and go back! Noona will buy you food at an expensive hotel.”   “You two will just eat an expensive meal, chat for a while, and then go home.”   I touched my mouth and thought about the earnest appeal.   If I’m just coming to eat, then that’s fine. Since she is Kim Dae-seok’s Noona and not someone else, it doesn’t feel too burdensome.   “Okay. I have a lot of things to be thankful for Da-hee anyway, so I can help you with that.”   “Really? You’ll do it?”   “Uh-huh. I’m not helping you, I’m helping Da-hee.”   “Wow, I lived! I escaped from hell!”   Is it something he would like that much? How much has he suffered?   After drinking the rest of the Americano, I put down the empty glass and said to a delighted Kim Dae-seok.   “Please let me know when the date is set.”   HM: for some reason, after reading YC’s possessive thoughts, I was like I wished MC would do that to YC and give a medicine of his thoughts to him. Wwwww ‘cuz I was a bit angry at YC…wwwwwwww But I have to say obsession is normal. Everyone(I meant everyone) I have seen is obsessed with something in their life, but the level of obsession is different. It’s a bit ironic to say obsession isn’t normal. Obsession is human nature after all. That’s my opinion.  人間だったんだ / ぐちり feat. 初音ミク (Everyone is Human. / Guchiry feat. • I Tamed the First Rank Chapter 44

"You say you want to commit suicide, but then you're being pushed back to die. It's a very refreshing and thrilling experience." "T-that's not what I meant." "I know. You can’t hold yourself back from feeling this way." Hyeon Gyu-ha didn't deny when In Yoo-shin said about holding back feelings. Even so, if In Yoo-shin showed signs of anxiety and nervousness, the constraints of taming tied to his soul would distort his actions. Just like that time. I don't know if that's really the right direction for Hyeon Gyu-ha. But at least before he passively commits suicide, it would be good if he could give himself a moment to reflect on whether he really is aiding death. "I’ve to think about what to do, so I'll try to be a little more worried." Hyeon Gyu-ha put his arms under In Yoo-shin's head and pulled him into his arms. Thump, thump, thump.  The gentle beating of the heart, the evidence of life, overlaps with the sound of Inyushin’s heart. “I won’t think about dying for you anymore, so don’t worry. You must be tired from taking tests and walking around here today, so go to sleep quickly.” “Good night, Gyu-ha- ssi .” The hand patting his back was gentle, like putting a baby to sleep. In Yoo-shin fell into a deep sleep, listening to the gentle sound of his heartbeat like a lullaby. When he woke up with a dry throat, the unchanging white sky was shining on him, and Hyeon Gyu-ha was nowhere to be seen. No way. No way. My heart was beating fast. In Yoo-shin pressed his anxiously rumbling chest and took a deep breath to calm himself. He felt that his soul was still connected to him. “If you’re looking for Hyeon Gyu-ha, he went out of the gym because he couldn’t sleep.” When he turned his head in surprise at the soft voice, he saw Gong Tae-seong looking down at him with his arms crossed. The group huddled together in the gym was surrounded by a white flame more than two meters high. “Is it already the guild master’s shift?” “He’s sleeping soundly. Do you want something to eat?” Recalling the memory of taking a bite of colorless bread, his appetite suddenly disappeared, but his stomach was hungry. There is no death more worthless than starving to death after insisting that something doesn’t suit my taste in a place like this. In Yoo-shin took the bag of bread he had left over earlier and forcefully chewed and swallowed it. It was still a horribly bizarre texture that had no taste at all. Beside him, Gong Tae-seong also ate his sandwich in silence. The ingredients were different, but the taste would be the same. “The erosion gate’s monsters can’t be cooked and eaten. Just finding food and water is a big achievement.” “The boss is still nowhere to be found?” “Choi Jin-hyeok just came back after a quick look, but if he can’t be found even after searching this much, there is a chance that he will appear after some time. The worst case scenario is that there is no way to attack the gay tran." Gong Tae-seong shrugged his shoulders and emptied his remaining sandwich into his mouth, then patted the crumbs off his hands. Despite the situation where he couldn't see ahead, his mind, which had regained its composure, seemed strong in a different way than Hyeon Gyu-ha's. In Yoo-shin also swallowed hard and took a sip of water to clear his throat. I’ve to be careful not to squeeze too hard or the entire container could turn to dust. "I've got something to do. Would you like to take a short walk to help with digestion?" “Can we leave this area?” “Any demonic beast who tries to enter will be dealt with by that flame.” That was certainly the case. In Yoo-shin glanced at the flames blazing high above his head. As Gong Tae-seong took the lead, the flames parted just enough for one person to pass through. He stood far enough away that the others couldn’t hear his voice, but close enough that they could sense the approach of the demonic beast crossing the flames. In Yoo-shin blinked his eyelashes and looked up at him. He was someone I had never really had any contact with. What could he possibly have to say to me? “You kid.” The 22-year-old youth reflexively got angry when he suddenly heard the word “you kod,” but he soon nodded and agreed after thinking about our age difference.  I didn’t know exactly how old Gong Taesung was, but he was at least a year older than me, so I was somewhat of a kid. “It’s not my style to talk in detail, so let me get to the point. Why don't you leave Hyeon Gyu-ha and come to me?" “……?” "Whether it's wealth or power, I'm not inferior to that guy, so it won't be less than what you can enjoy now." “……?” It took In Yoo-shin about 20 seconds to understand what he said. On the other hand, it only took 1 second for his face to turn red with embarrassment. “You’re divorced now, but didn’t you marry a woman before, Guildmaster?” “Hmm? What does it have to do with my divorce?” “Surely the reason for the divorce is………………. Ah, no! You don’t have to explain it! I appreciate that you think well of me, but………………! I’m heterosexual, oh, no! I have a boyfriend! I’m so sorry!” Unlike In Yoo-shin, who needed 20 seconds to understand, Gong Tae-seong understood what was going on between them in 2 seconds. And after 2 seconds of being dumbfounded, he suddenly raised his voice. “Who would do that to a kid like you who doesn’t even have a drop of blood!” “So, you’re saying that you’re a gay who got a fake marriage? How could you fake a marriage with a third generation chaebol? Weren’t you afraid of the repercussions?” "No!" Gong Tae-seong, who had confessed that he was not gay with his neck bloodshot, clenched his teeth so hard that it made a cracking sound. "Fuck. I really understand why you're dating a guy like Hyeon Gyu-ha. You two are exactly the same." Somehow, it felt like Gong Tae-seong had been cursed at the most with that one word. Gong Tae-seong finally managed to spit it out as if gritting his teeth. "Hyeon Gyu-ha must have a purpose for meeting you. He must be paying a reasonable price for that purpose. I don't know how much that price is, but I'm saying that I can treat you better than that." "Are you going to scout me for the Narsha Guild?" "I don't need the formality of a scout, but if you want, I'll treat you like that." The misunderstanding that I was a gay who flirted with a man who had a lover was cleared up, but the more I listened, the more confused I became. However, I couldn't openly ask the 2nd ranked, S-ranked hunter, and the leader of a large guild what he was thinking, so I timidly laid down a hint. "What you're saying is that you need me not necessarily asking as the guild leader, but as an individual, Hunter Gong Tae-seong………………. I don't even know why you need me, yet." "That's right." "But like I said earlier, it seems like it's a situation that others might easily misunderstand. The guild leader is as famous as Gyu-ha- ssi.  The fact that Gyu-ha -ssi  and I broke up once and are getting back together is rumored on the internet in a day because of witnesses……………….” In Yoo-shin glanced at him with an expression that said, “Can you handle the rumors that you’re in a romantic relationship with Hyeon Gyu-ha?” Gong Tae-seong’s face turned pale, as if he hadn’t thought about it. “Besides, I think the guild leader is misunderstanding this……………….  I’m not getting anything in return, I’m just dating him.” “………………Are you really dating Hyun Gyu-ha? That damned brat with a broken personality?” “Gyu-ha -ssi  is a good person.” Until then, his voice had been slyly watching and fidgeting, but it was clear when he said this one word. Hyeon Gyu-ha had no filter, was self-centered, and might have a bad reputation, but he was a good person. He was trying to become a good person. There was no reason for someone I met for the first time today to criticize him as a crazy person. At the firm response he gave for the first time, Gong Tae-seong wiggled one eyebrow and slightly lowered his head. “I apologize for what I just said. However, Hyeon Gyu-ha is famous for his distrust of people, so I hope you understand that I can’t believe that he’s dating someone without any other intentions. Have you ever heard of Dr. Kang Seok-woo?” “I haven’t.” “A gate scholar. Your friend majored in gate studies, right? You might know.” Gong Tae-seong took out a business card, wrote Kang Seok-woo’s name on the back, and handed it to him. He couldn’t refuse the business card, so he obediently accepted it. “Even if it’s true that Hyeon Gyu-ha doesn’t give you money, I can treat you well, so if you change your mind or have any questions, contact me.” “May I ask why someone like you, the guild leader, needs me? I don’t have any special awakening abilities…………….” “If I get you out, I can screw Hyeon Gyu-ha.” “…….” It might be an attempt to cover up his true intentions, but it was a reason that was hard to deny. In Yoo-shin changed the subject slightly. “What kind of person is Dr. Kang Seok-woo?” “He’s the person who raised Hyeon Gyu-ha like his own child, just like an adoptive father.” I felt a new sense of urgency and scanned the names on the business card again. Fortunately. When I was young, I lost both my mother and grandmother, but it seems that there was someone who Hyeon Gyu-ha could rely on. Gong Tae-seong continued speaking in a slow tone. “And 14 years ago, I died because of Hyeon Gyu-ha.” ------ Credits: Translator: Hoshi Miya Editor/Proofreader: We made a discord server! please join us!

  • PASSION Prologue Part 2

Jeong Tae-ui has a Hyung who was born on the same day and at the same time.   Though they were branches from the same root, Jeong Tae-ui’s brother, who bore little resemblance to him, was incredibly intelligent. It was as if the word 'genius' was insufficient to describe him.   If only my Hyung wasn't so laid-back and indifferent to the world, if he had a bit more ambition, I wouldn't be exaggerating if I said he could probably blow up a continent.   Even the United Nations' human resources development organization coveted Hyung, who possessed extraordinary talents spanning from the humanities to science and technology, and even the arts.   On the other hand, Jeong Tae-ui was ordinary. Or rather, slightly above average. After all, he never fell below average at anything he did. In some areas, he even earned praise for being exceptional.   However, when Jeong Tae-ui was praised for being exceptional, it was always the result of his own hard work. Unlike his Hyung who achieved top scores without putting in half as much effort, Jeong Tae-ui always worked diligently.   However, Jeong Tae-ui never envied his Hyung for that. While he might have thought it would be convenient to have such talent, he never wished to possess his brother's abilities.   What Jeong Tae-ui envied about his Hyung was not his intellect, talent, or ability.   What he envied about his Hyung was his luck. Jeong Tae-ui’s Hyung, Jeong Jae-ui, was not only extraordinarily intelligent, is often referred to as a genius among geniuses, but he was also blessed with an unparalleled level of luck. It would be an understatement to say he was born under a lucky star, his good fortune was truly extreme.   It wasn't just that Jeong Jae-ui would miraculously escape unharmed from major accidents; his luck went beyond that. For instance, he never needed to receive a proper allowance as a student. Since there was simply no need for it.   Despite generally having little desire for material possessions and rarely needing money, whenever Jeong Jae-ui faced an unexpected expense and had no money on hand, he would borrow a few coins from those around him and buy a lottery ticket. The lottery ticket would always bring him exactly the amount of luck he needed.   It was always like that.    While Jeong Jae-ui's extremely and almost unbelievable good fortune was a normal part of his everyday life, Jeon Tae-ui experienced the typical amount of luck and misfortune that most people do. I would be lying if I said I didn’t envy my Hyung’s luck in such a life.   When I was younger, I envied him so much that my stomach ached, but as I grew older, I didn't feel that way anymore. It was just the normal envy anyone feels for something they can't have, something new and good. Despite the fact that it was relatively insignificant, this was the only thing Jeong Tae-ui ever envied about others, considering how he was not one to feel envy easily. Although he sometimes felt envious and jealous of his Hyung, Jeong Tae-ui loved him nonetheless.   That incredibly unlucky person, who was incredibly intelligent, exceptionally skilled at using that intelligence, and even incredibly lucky, wasn't so unlucky in terms of personality. Sure, he could be careless, fickle, and a bit mysterious, but as a Hyung, he was pretty normal. He was kind in an ordinary way, and he was reliably dependable.   I think we're pretty good brothers. ……Even though there are still some puzzling aspects of my Hyung, even after living together for over twenty years, maybe that's just how geniuses are. But maybe my Hyung didn't really like me.   The night before my older brother left, which was four days ago.   As was often the case, he was staring intently at a complex blueprint that Jeong Tae-ui couldn't understand, and occasionally he would scribble something like chemical formulas or molecular models beside it as if something had occurred to him, and he would lose himself in thought again. Even when Jeong Tae-ui approached him closely and peered over his shoulder at the blueprint, he didn't realize it for a long time.   Looking at the unfamiliar chemical formulas and numbers, Jeong Tae-ui thought, ‘Hyung is moving into an unfamiliar world again,’ walked over to the couch next to him, pulled out an ordinary humanities book he could understand, and opened it.   It was a quiet, comfortable night, just like any other. Having stared at the papers for a long time, perhaps feeling exhausted, Hyung pushed them aside and lay down on the floor, staring blankly at the ceiling as if his soul had left his body. Perhaps a weary sigh escaped his lips at that moment. Suddenly, he went and sat next to Jeong Tae-ui, who was sitting on the sofa reading a book, and then he unexpectedly grabbed Jeong Tae-ui's pinky finger and spoke.   ‘Right here you see…….’   And then, as he spread out his pinky finger, he continued.   ‘Here is a red thread between the hands. Born on the same day, at the same time, on the same ship, it’s only natural…… But Let’s cut it now.’   ‘……. What?’   Suddenly, what kind of incomprehensible thing is this? Though Hyung always said he was swimming in a world he didn't understand, he'd never spoken such nonsense to me before.   It was already well-known that his older brother wasn't of average brain, but at that moment, Jeong Tae-ui briefly wondered if perhaps his brother wasn't even of normal brain.   However, with his usual calm gaze, his Hyung spread his fingers into the shape of scissors and pretended to snip the space between their pinky fingers. It was as if he were cutting the invisible red thread of fate that connected them.   And then, as if nothing had happened, his brother looked back up at the ceiling, and Jeong Tae-ui, still holding up his pinky finger, stared at him blankly. Then, he suddenly asked.   ‘Hyung……. you actually hated me, didn't you?’  Or maybe I thought, 'Did I do something recently to upset him?' and I tried to recall, but nothing came to mind. What could be the problem? What kind of issue could have arisen without me knowing, to the point where they would suddenly want to cut ties?   When Jeong Tae-ui asked that question, it suddenly seemed like he was saying something out of the ordinary.   ‘Why me.’   His brother ended the conversation with those words. Jeong Hyung tilted his head and stared intently at his brother's face. But seeing his Hyungs expression, which revealed no insincerity despite its unreadable nature, Jeong Tae-ui said nothing more and turned his gaze back to his book.   But if you think about it, maybe those words were a shorthand way of saying, 'Then why would I like you?'   Even if I'm curious now, the only person who could answer that question has already left without saying when he'll be back. They left behind the words, 'I guess I'll have to experience some bad luck.'   Jeong Tae-ui had thought, 'What a spoiled thing to say,' but now he realized that his Hyung had been extremely lucky to leave when he did. He had left just before this bothersome guest arrived. *** ------ Credits: Translator: Hoshi Miya Editor/Proofreader: Tâmago We made a discord server! please join us!

  • PASSION Prologue Part 1

Prologue   Jeong Tae-ui paused when he heard the doorbell ring. A seasoned bean slipped from the chopsticks and rolled away. A tiny black bean rolled off the plate, leaving a sticky trail behind, and before it could even come to a stop, the doorbell rang again.   Jeong Tae-ui nervously tapped his chopsticks against the table, his eyes darting towards the front door. I had a bad feeling ever since I'd heard faint footsteps climbing the stairs. Actually, I've been in a bad mood since I woke up this morning with achy knees because of the rain. My knees always hurt when it rains or the weather is gloomy, but days when they ache this badly, I just have a feeling something bad is going to happen.   He was feeling as gloomy as the gray, drizzly day, having just laid out a simple breakfast and poured himself a couple of drinks, when he heard footsteps approaching from outside.   In the old, run-down apartment building, which was over two decades old, you could hear a pin drop. If a cat so much as entered the building, its noise would echo all the way up to the attic. Jeong Tae-ui was on the third floor, right beneath the attic. From the moment he heard someone climbing the stairs a little after 7 AM, he had a sense that something was wrong.   And the moment the doorbell rang, that bad feeling was confirmed with a profound sense of reality.   Few people came to this house. His Hyung - the only one who lives with him in this house - I haven't heard from since he left the house four days ago, so he doesn’t ring the doorbell since he has the key.   A heavy, insistent knock sounded at the door, interrupting his thoughts. Another thud followed as someone took a step back. The sound was deep and heavy. Similar to the clack of military boots.    The thought of military boots sent a shiver down his spine. The doorbell rang insistently, three or four times in rapid succession. He had barely started eating when his appetite vanished, and he set down his chopsticks. The person outside the door, who brought with them an ominous feeling, showed no sign of retreating. The way they relentlessly pressed the doorbell without knocking or calling out reminded him of someone, making him feel even more depressed.   “.......”   Jeong Tae-ui went to the front door, removed the chain lock, and opened the door exactly twelve times after the doorbell had rung. The person standing outside took a step back as the door opened. The shoes that made that angular sound were spotless military boots.   And on top of those shoes was a black military uniform that was straight and unobtrusive as if it was measured with a ruler. To be precise, it should be called a conquest or uniform, not a military uniform, but the place where this man worked was not much different from the military.   The small silver badge attached to his collar somehow looked particularly irritating. It's not because there are countless people in the world who desperately want to wear that badge.   Every time this man came to this house in his formal uniform, nothing good ever happened. Despite saying that, this was probably the third or fourth time I've seen him in uniform.   The black gloved hands took off the black hat. The man smiled smoothly, his gaze fixed on Jeong Tae-ui.   “Long time no see. How have you been?”   The last time I saw him was about 3 years ago. A lot has happened since then. I almost died while removing a land mine, I almost died once again due to a complication while undergoing surgery. I was tolerant and endured three times and almost killed a person by beating him to death on the fourth time. I was discharged from the military without even completing half of my military service.   Jeong Tae-ui looked at the man with a complicated expression for a moment, then sighed and spoke   “What could possibly happen to me that my uncle wouldn't know? There must be a reason as to why you would suddenly show up at this place without contacting me ahead at this hour. ……Come in.”   No wonder I had a bad feeling today.  It’s not that I don’t like this guy, but I feel a bit uneasy about him coming here dressed like that. But when I think about it, he probably came to see my Hyung, so there was nothing for me to worry about.   However, Jeong Tae-ui stepped aside as if welcoming a plague god into the house. The man's eyes curved slightly, not with displeasure but with a kind of amusement, as he saw his face. Closing the door behind the man who had already entered the house, Jeong Tae-ui asked.   “When did you arrive?”   “Two hours ago. I came straight from the airport.   “Unn, I see……. You should have contacted me first at least. Hyung is not here.”   The man, dressed in a sharp, wrinkle-free uniform but lounging on the sofa in an inappropriately casual posture, paused for a moment when he heard Jeong Tae-ui’s words and looked at him.   “He isn’t? When’s he coming?”   “Like I would know. He left four days ago and hasn't contacted me since. Did you only come to see Hyung? Then you’ve come a long way in vain.”   “Is there any way to contact him?”   “He wouldn’t be Jeong Jae-ui if he was easy to get hold of. You know that.”   Jeong Tae-ui sat on the stool opposite the man and said casually.   Jeong Tae-ui's Hyung was a relatively disciplined person when it came to his daily routine. If he was going to be away overnight for a day or two, he would usually let others know beforehand, even if it was just a brief notice. However, there were times when he would suddenly disappear without a word and not return for days or even weeks. That's exactly what has happened now. While he might come back after four days, there were also times when he wouldn't be heard from for over two months, making it impossible to predict when he would return this time.   But this time, I have a feeling he might not be back for a long time. When Hyung left four days ago, he said something strange.   ‘It's no fun if you live with nothing but luck. I think I need to experience some bad luck myself now.’   As Jeong Tae-ui recalled the image of his Hyung leaving with that equally enigmatic smile, he fell into thought. His brother had always been a bit difficult to understand, but no matter how much he thought about it, he couldn't figure out what his brother had meant by that statement.   But…….   “Um, what should I do…….”   Watching his uncle mutter in annoyance and tap his forehead, Jeong Tae-ui mumbled to himself. He likes experiencing bad luck, huh? What a hypocrite. Just before this unexpected misfortune, he conveniently disappears. What kind of bad luck is that? It looks like Hyung will never even get a glimpse of the letter 'B' in the word 'bad luck' for the rest of his life.   *** ------ Credits: Translator: Hoshi Miya Editor/Proofreader: Tâmago We made a discord server! please join us!

  • I Tamed the First Rank Chapter 43

“Are you having strange thoughts again?” “No.” “What do you mean by no? We’ve been together for over 10 years, how can I not recognize your expression?” Park Seung-gi grumbled and sat down next to him. “What about the fact that you kept filming?” “The battery is dead. If I had known this would happen, I would have brought a spare battery. I’m dying of regret.” The artificial grass, which had lost its color, crumbled under his palm as he grumbled and touched the dirt floor. “…….” “Let me guess what you were thinking about digging again?” “Were you thinking that it was because of you that you got caught at the gate?” In Yoo-shin’s shoulders hunched even further. “………………It’s true. If you hadn’t come to cheer me on, neither you, Gyu-ha, Hye-yeon, and Team Leader Choi would have gotten involved.” “Hey. Leave me out. Gate scholar, no, I only have a bachelor's degree, but anyway, dying inside the gate is rather an industry award. I’m happy to die here." (he’s saying this sarcastically cuz he’s a fanatic of dungeons.) "Still……………….” “But what?” With a firm gesture, Park Seung-gi hit In Yoo-shin on the back of the head with a loud sound. It really hurt. “I like everything about you, but the problem is that you’re digging too much. If what you say is true, the reason you took this test is because of Hyeon Gyu-ha, but isn’t the root cause because of him? If we dig deeper, the person in charge who decided on this physical test location as the gymnasium is also at fault.” “…….” “That’s exactly what you’re saying when you say that people got swept up in it is your fault.” In Yoo-shin rubbed the back of his aching head and remained silent. Park Seung-gi hesitated and opened his lips at his face, which was still gloomy. “………………They didn’t die because of you.” And as soon as he said that, he regretted it. In Yoo-shin's eyes, looking at Hyeon Gyu-ha digging deep into the ground, had an expression that made him want to throw himself into that deep hole instead. They dug two more holes 100 meters deep, but they couldn't find the subway map or the dungeon boss. The group put their heads together again, but no solution came to mind. "You said there was a store, right? First, let’s secure food and water.” Lee Hye-yeon’s words meant that we might have to stay at the gate for a long time. We brought sealed food and water from the store, and brought mats used in classes from the center and laid them out on the playground. We also had to deal with the attacks of the demons during that process. It was okay for now, but the hunters’ mana and stamina would eventually run out. There was a shortage of mats and blankets, and the hunters needed rest. The group split into four teams, each centered around Hyeon Gyu-ha, Gong Tae-seong, Lee Hye-yeon, and Choi Jin-hyeok, and decided to take turns resting. The sky, which never changed day or night, was unchanging in brightness, so it wasn’t easy to fall asleep even if we closed our eyes. “Have you eaten?” When I opened my eyes, drawn by the soft voice, I saw the owner of the voice lying on his side with his arm propped up.  In Yoo-shin moistened his dry lips with the tip of his tongue. “I took a bite of the bread, but I couldn’t taste anything, which was strange since the texture was same, so I haven't eaten yet. I know it's a bit extravagant to talk about it, but I can still endure it. What about you, Gyu-ha- ssi ?" "I didn't feel like eating, so I drank some water. You're not cold, are you? Should I bring you more clothes?" "It's okay." The conversation, which had been whispering quietly so as not to disturb those around him, was cut off ambiguously. I can't sleep, so I don't know what to say to continue the conversation. In Yoo-shin silently moved his gaze to the side. Hyeon Gyu-ha's profile, lying down and staring at the sky, felt empty. "………………I’m sure the outside know that we got caught up in the gate, right?" "It wasn't just one or two, but dozens of people disappeared in broad daylight, so there must be many witnesses. Two S-class people got caught up, and if they can't get out and get killed, there'll be chaos." A thin sneer formed at the corners of his lips. The tone, which mentioned not only others but also his own death, was light as if it were a joke. In the sneer that could be taken as a joke, In Yoo-shin felt like he had caught a glimpse of his inner self. It was really light for him. Death. In Yoo-shin quietly looked at Hyeon Gyu-ha, who had said that. After it was revealed that the dungeon boss was not visible, Hyeou Gyu-ha became silent. Hyeon Gyu-ha, who had been thinking about saving In Yoo-shin even though he would easily give up on his own death, no longer mentioned his own survival. Was the sight of his gloomy eyes looking at passive suicide or active suicide? In Yoo-shin took a deep breath so that his anxiety would not show on the outside. "Do you know………………. something?" Only the eyes moved sideways and looked at In Yoo-shin. In Yoo-shin was relieved that his face, reflected in the clear amber-colored irises that looked like melted jewels, looked relatively similar to usual. "Why do you think so?" "It's just that. It feels a little different." "Hmm, I guess I can't fool my Master." Hyeon Gyu-ha snickered. "I'm thinking about what to do. Last time in the dungeon, thanks to Yoo-shin -ssi 's help, I was able to find what I was looking for early, so I was feeling a little motivated………………. But now that it’s trying to play with me in the palm of his hand, I'm getting really annoyed." "I was just thinking about whether to just beat them all up and shoot them in the head." It’s light to him, as expected. Death to him. In the black and white world where the wind doesn't blow, his weightless words fell down into the ground. In Yoo-shin stared blankly at the fragments of the fallen words. "But don't worry." Hyeon Gyu-ha's eyes, turning his body to the side again and looking at In Yoo-shin, curved gently. "If I die, this gate will probably return to normal and a boss will appear somewhere. I don’t really like Gong Tae-seong, but since Hye-yeon Noona and Choi Jin-hyeok are there, it won't be hard to clear. Yoo-shin, you can just go back safely." "………………Then, what about you, Gyu-ha?" "Don't worry about the corpse. After I die, who cares if you burn it, bury it, or throw it inside the gate? Rather, if I die, the taming will be lifted, and you won’t have to endure the annoying stalker’s nagging, just right. Come to think of it, suicide was the fastest way to lift the taming.” “No, that’s not it……………….” Hyeon Gyu-ha, who was genuinely and cheerfully whispering as if he had found the best way, held onto his hand tightly. The body temperature, which was slightly higher than usual, prickled his palm. “Gyu-ha- ssi , do you really want to do that?” In Yoo-shin doesn’t fully understand the weight of life that Hyeon Gyu-ha is carrying. Discussing life and death with him would be nothing more than a superficial, lame joke. That’s why I asked that to his heart. “I think that people’s lives are not equal and that there are differences. I wasn’t anything special, and the rest of my life will be nothing special, just a common life. I’m not like Seung-gi who can achieve anything in the academic field. My awakening ability is only good for raising hamsters.” An expression that seemed to be difficult to understand spread across Hyeon Gyu-ha’s face. In Yoo-shin slowly shook off the long-standing contemplation caused by the terrible regret he had kept in his heart for 14 years. It’s different from the chaos of the time when the dungeon break was a mess, but the danger of life being threatened is the same. In Yoo-shin is still convinced that he was the one who should have died back then. “If you’re thinking of killing yourself to get someone like me out, don’t do it. I’m not a person worthy of being used as an excuse for Gyu-ha -ssi  to commit suicide.” If this gate was a place where someone's life had to be sacrificed to clear, In Yoo-shin knew that he would have committed suicide without hesitation. This is not noble altruism or a holy spirit of sacrifice. Since there is a difference in life, if one insignificant, ordinary person's life can be used to save several hunters, wouldn't that prove the reason why he couldn't die and lived on? Wouldn't the deaths of those who passed away also be given meaning? However, this gate is not a place where life is moved by the pursuit. "………………Are you doing this because you want to prevent my suicide?" "If it were possible, I would……………….  But it seems cruel for me, who doesn't even know how hard it is for Gyu-ha -ssi , to hold on to you and tell you not to die." In Yoo-shin can't choose death for him. To extract a little more value from the end of his ordinary, miserable life. Hyeon Gyu-ha rubbed his face roughly with his palm and let out a bitter laugh. ------ Credits: Translator: Hoshi Miya Editor/Proofreader: We made a discord server! please join us!
