CH 12 The post of Yoo Ji-han and Chae Yoo-jeong kissing passionately went viral, to the point that it drew attention from Chae Yoo-jeong’s stepfather. His secretary had been tasked with gathering real-time information about his son’s college life, which he was funding through tuition and living expenses deposited into his bank account. A furious gaze fell upon the iPad in his trembling hands before he set it down on the table beside him. “Take down all the articles related to him. Also, freeze his account and close it immediately.” There were already internet articles featuring Chae Yoo-jeong, speculating about his career in streaming, modeling, and other ventures. Although none of them were negative, if reporters dug deeper into his background, it was possible they would link the incident back to his stepfather. “Yes, sir.” The secretary slipped out through the door immediately, eager to avoid provoking the chaebol’s anger for being too slow. ‘That pathetic brat… He actually thinks the world revolves around him, as if fortune itself is showering him with blessings.’ The chaebol glanced down at his phone, debating whether to call his wife or not. His chair creaked as he swung it from side to side, resting his face against his right arm while idly tapping his cheek in thought. He eventually picked up his phone after cooling his mind. With a clear mindset, he tapped at the phone to get to the page of his wife’s number and pressed the call button. Brrrr. Brrrr. Brrrr… The line connected, and the call was answered on the other end. “Hello, Hubby~ How are you?” A sweet, melodious, sing-song voice floated from the phone, with no knowledge of the storm of articles dragging her son’s name into the spotlight. “I’m fine…” He said, his tone clipped but controlled. “I wanted to ask if you actually know where Chae Yoo-jeong is living.” “Um… I’m not sure. I’ll call him to ask where he lives now. Why do you want to know?” Her voice wavered with curiosity, but there was no trace of suspicion. A faint smirk tugged at his lips, though his eyes remained cold. “You might want to check the news outlets.” The phone call had ended. Chae Yoo-jeong’s mother stared at her phone for a moment before typing Chae Yoo-jeong’s name into the search bar. Instantly, headlines filled the screen on her phone, articles about her son and the viral kiss with another strikingly handsome young man, already being touted as his boyfriend. It was a scandal spreading like wildfire across the internet. Yet the irony was bitter: Chae Yoo-jeong wasn’t even a celebrity, not in lifestyle nor profession. Chae Yoo-jeong’s mother stared at the flood of articles, her face a mix of bewilderment and disgust at the images of her son kissing another man. ‘This can’t be him… This can be actually true, isn’t this? Tell me it’s not him!’ Wrinkles creased her forehead as her eyes widened in terror. Her fingers clawed at the roots of her hair, frantic and restless. ‘What am I going to do?’ Shaking slightly, she pulled out her phone and scrolled through her contacts. Her thumb hovered over a number before she tapped it, holding her breath as she waited for the call to connect. *** Chae Yoo-jeong, who was on his way home alone after all his classes were done for the day until he heard his phone vibrating in his right pocket. Brrr. Brrr. The screen flashed. Mother. A bead of sweat slid down his cheek as unease coiled in his stomach. Why was she calling him now? ‘She made it perfectly clear that she would never call him unless it was absolutely necessary. How dare she go back on her own words……’ He ignored the call when it went silent for a moment. But, however, contrary to his deepest worries, the phone rang again. His mind felt like it was about to explode under the weight of pressure and stress. He sank onto a nearby bench, placing his bag across his thighs. Sweat dripped from his forehead, and he pressed a handkerchief to his brow before finally answering the call. “Hey, where are you living?” “…….” Only silence answered her abrupt, sharp tone over the phone. ‘I really don’t want to reply to her.’ “Why aren’t you answering?” Her voice pressed him, leaving him with no choice but to speak softly, almost reluctantly. “It’s Apartment No. 117, on Jasco Street Line.” His palm beated himself on the head for being possessed by the commanding tone in her voice, that seemed to look down at him as well as wavered as if something was wrong. “.......” The call ended abruptly, without a single word of goodbye. Only a nauseous feeling was left in his throat. His body felt drained, as if a vampire had sucked every last drop of blood from him. His eyes went out of focus while his hands were trembling in front of him. The phone screen dimmed, then faded to black. In the reflection of its glass, he caught a glimpse of his sweat-drenched face as his head slumped forward. It was only after taking a few deep breaths that his eye stabilized to normal. ‘I guess she might try to visit me sooner or later, anyways.’ He brushed back his bangs backwards and looked upwards. Yoo Ji-han sees him just at that moment. “Were you waiting for me?” A sudden voice startled him. A smile slowly crept across Chae Yoo-jeong’s face, brushing aside what had happened just moments ago. ‘Just seeing Yoo Ji-han’s face was enough to warm my heart.’ Thump, thump. He placed a hand over his chest, where his heart began to beat rapidly, and smiled, closing his eyes briefly. Yoo Ji-han sat beside him on the bench and pulled him into a quiet hug. For a few minutes, they stayed like that, wordless, but steady. After a few minutes, they finally got up while grasping each other’s hands. “What to eat for dinner……? I’m sick of bread.” Yoo Ji-han spoke as they walked side by side, their steps falling into quiet sync. “I’m surprised…” He said with a small laugh. “You used to like bread a lot, though.” “Nope. When you get exposed to eating it a lot, you get sick of it easily.” “I see… what should we make then?” “Sushi!!” Chae Yoo-jeong said excitedly. “I thought you wanted Korean food.” Yoo Ji-han side-eyed and shrugged. “It’s fun for a change.” Above them…only the moon outshone the stars, and silence stretched across the night, as if they were the only two people left in the world. --- Credits: Writer: Hoshi Miya Co-writer: Miry MR: I don’t want to see Chae Yoo-jeong’s mother very soon. Ch 11 A month slipped by in a blur. Their days were filled with endless little tasks, like taking care of any extra-legal documents that needed to be submitted, helping Chae Yoo-jeong prepare for his upcoming interview, and juggling schedules that never seemed to align. Time management became a constant battle, weighed down by the haze of jet lag and the slow struggle to adjust to the rhythm of a new time zone. Yet, as people always do, they have found ways to cope. Little by little, the unfamiliar no longer felt overwhelmed, and they began adapting to their new surroundings. Eventually, it was time to begin classes at the German college they both attended. The opening ceremony felt long and boring, the speeches washing over them in a language they couldn’t yet fully grasp…but it was fine. It was, after all, just the beginning. Since Chae Yoo-jeong was pursuing his bachelor’s degree in architecture and Yoo Ji-han his master’s degree in architecture, their daily routines rarely overlapped. Most of their classes were entirely different, with lectures, studios, and assignments scheduled at varying times. As a result, encounters between them were few and far between. When they did cross paths, it was usually a fleeting moment in a quiet hallway….a brief exchange of glances, a hurried nod, always accompanied by a small, shy smile, before they disappeared again into the rhythm of their separate days. However, they shared the same class, which is German Speaking Class, held on Wednesdays. Just as Yoo Ji-han was about to walk over to Chae Yoo-jeong, he noticed him surrounded by a group of Korean students, clearly popular and drawing their attention. “No way! You’re that popular streamer from Korea, right? My boyfriend talks about you all the time! I didn’t know you were here.” One of them exclaimed with a big smile on her face. “You were modeling for a perfume brand, weren’t you? You’re amazing!” Another student added, his tone was full of admiration. “I feel like I’ve seen you before!” A group of students, men and women alike, crowded around, all intrigued by this Korean guy. Even some of the other international students turned their heads, curious to see who had drawn so much attention. Chae Yoo-jeong simply smiled and replied politely, letting the admiration wash over him without missing a beat. “Let’s head back to our seats, shall we? We don’t want to make a commotion before class starts. We can talk afterward.” Chae Yoo-jeong busied himself trying to calm the crowd around him. One of the girls asked, “It’s a promise, right?” ‘No way…’ Yoo Ji-han squinted his eyes. Before Chae Yoo-jeong could reply, Yoo Ji-han kissed him boldly in front of everyone, grabbing him by the collar and pulling him closer, pressing their bodies together. Between kisses, Yoo Ji-han glanced at the girl and smirked, as if making a point, before turning all his focus back to Chae Yoo-jeong, especially when he felt hands at his waist, squeezing lightly in response. A silence broke across the murmuring crowd. Everyone seemed to hold their breath, waiting to see if Chae Yoo-jeong would kiss back with the same intensity, captivated by Yoo Ji-han’s boldness and daringness. Soon after, silence was filled with gasps, and cheers, while some started clapping and catcalling. Some even snapped a picture of them, although they didn’t consent to having their pictures taken. Just then, the professor walked in, catching sight of the scene before the kiss had ended. He walked toward them, and he cleared his throat. “Please stop the PDA. I’ve a class to teach, and it’s about to begin. Everyone, return to your seats, in this moment.” The two, flustered by the loud voice, broke apart and quickly scrambled to their seats. The teacher watched as the students returned to their places, disappointment written on their faces. He sighed. ‘Kids nowadays…’ Then his gaze lingered on the lovebirds; he chuckled softly, gave them a brief nod, and turned away. Reaching the podium, the professor arranged the files in his hands before beginning his lecture. From his seat, Yoo Ji-han stole a side-glance at Chae Yoo-jeong and smirked. Chae Yoo-jeong, on the other hand, kept his eyes fixed on the professor, trying his hardest to focus without meeting Yoo Ji-han’s gaze. A subtle thread of love seemed to tie them together, and those around them couldn’t help but feel a pang of envy. *** “Should I post this in the community forum…….?” A group of female friends who were having a cafe break, stood in line waiting for lattes and hamburgers. One of them scrolled through her phone, flipping through the photos she had taken earlier. “Girl, maybe you should ask permission.” “I think… they wouldn’t be doing that if they really minded being seen.” Mumbling her words, the blonde student took a sip from her latte through the straw. “Customer, here’s your plate of cinnamon buns.” The worker placed the plate in front of the girl, who, distracted by the phone in her hands, stumbled into her seat. Her eyes widened, and she quickly clutched the edge of the couch to steady herself. In the chaos of the stumble, the post with the picture had already gone live, the screen still glowing in her hands. She blinked rapidly, heart skipping a beat, and looked up at her friend sitting across from her on the brown leather couch. “What?” She whispered, a mix of panic and disbelief in her voice. ‘Omg….no, no, no…I…’ Her short black hair slipped from behind her ears as her eyes widened in terror. She rested her chin on her hand, neck bent forward in dismay. “I… accidentally posted the picture.” The black-haired student admitted, her voice barely above a whisper. A tense silence hung in the air for a few seconds, broke only when two of their friends returned with drinks in hand, oblivious to the unfolding drama. “Well, what happened has happened. Just delete it. You shouldn’t post stuff without permission in the first place, dear.” “You can’t really delete a post once it’s been published on the forum.” The girl replied, panic flickering in her eyes. The girl, who had made a terrible mistake, bowed her head and thought slowly. The view count on the post had already climbed to 10,000 views within just two minutes. She hurriedly typed a message to the forum administrator, her fingers trembling slightly as she hit send. ‘Please, please just delete it, completely, permanently.’ She thought, her heart racing as she imagined the post spreading further with every passing second. ‘This is going to take up to a week to get deleted.’ She bit the corner of the skin near her nail, then shook her head and lightly slapped her cheeks. Rising to her feet, she waved at her friends. “I should get going.” She said, forcing a smile, trying to hide her worry and the hint of a depressing expression. Her friends exchanged troubled glances but decided to let it slide, since there wasn’t much, they could do at that point. “Bye girls… See you later.” The friends continued to talk about what had happened before the beginning of the class. “I didn’t know the gold haired guy was already dating another handsome guy. Dang, that’s a real-life experience….seeing a couple like that.” One of the friends said, wiping the corner of her eyes as she laughed at the thought. “They are like a Schnecken couple. Hahaha.” (Schnecken also means Snail.) “Thinking of it that way is kind of gross.” “But it suits them. They’re like sticky cinnamon buns after all.” Their laughter blended with the cozy atmosphere of the café that surrounded them, warm and easy. Meanwhile, the post continued to explode in popularity and ended up going viral, surpassing a million views in just a single day and spreading like wildfire across other social media platforms. --- Credits: Writer: Hoshi Miya Co-writer: Miry HM: I went to Germany before for people asking lol. Before he could finish speaking, Hyeon Gyu-ha hugged In Yoo-shin tightly and buried his face in the top of his head. Then he took a deep breath. "How is it that Yoo-shin- ssi has such good body odor? What do you have that, Master?” “It smells like shampoo…………….” "Even ordinary shampoo smells good because you use it. Seriously, it only takes 5 minutes." In Yoo-shin thought that he could hold him tighter, and patted Hyeon Gyu-ha on the back. I wish I could quickly figure out why he was anxious and help him. *** Days passed without incident. It didn't mean the world was quiet. There was a lot of talk everywhere, with a sense of crisis that the Hidden Boss might reappear again. However, the crystal stone is an environmentally friendly energy source that does not cause pollution, and its efficiency is incomparable to other resources. If it were to be abandoned, it would be no different from the regression of humanity. The argument that it would be unreasonable to discard all the crystals in the industrial complex for a once-in-60-year incident, and that separate safety measures should be established, was the most widely supported. Narrowing down the issue, there was also Hyeon Gyu-ha's problem. There were some high-ranking officials who were annoyed that Hyeon Gyu-ha, a mere hunter, was not only unassuming but also reckless. In addition, the media, which was targeting Geon-su, joined in, and public opinion emerged in some quarters questioning Hyeon Gyu-ha's independent actions, but Lee Hye-yeon covered it up. There were objections, but in any case, it is clear that Hyeon Gyu-ha hunted the hidden boss alone, and the public cheers as the hunter's ability is proven. Thanks to this, the public opinion that seemed to be slightly flaring up has disappeared without a trace. The people who were most devastated by the disappearance of the hidden boss's crystal that they had worked so hard to catch were the guilds that had hunted the 'heart-chewing, blood-sucking sadist'. Fortunately, they were scheduled to receive compensation through auction insurance. There were also suspicions that the cause of the regeneration was the auction house's poor management. He was worried that the company might be suffering damages, but Hyeon Gyu-ha's explanation helped ease the discomfort. The Ministry of Ability was still busy, but In Yoo-shin, a low-level contract civil servant, had no issues to worry about. Even 6-se liked the cool scales of the cold dragon and always slept there. He looked so cute, like a soft rice cake, lying comfortably. He was already a guy who got hotter in the middle of summer, so I was glad that I could keep him cool. I wondered if there was any way to help Hyeon Gyu-ha, so whenever I had free time, I would visit the research center with 8-se to learn training methods. So far, there have been no significant results. In the meantime, his parents' anniversary came around, so he avoided the anniversary and stopped by the funeral hall. This was to avoid running into his grandmother. It was the same routine to be caught by Hyeon Gyu-ha and dragged to the gym or to work outside in the dungeon. One day, when construction was going smoothly, the Digital Communication Team released a dungeon training vlog. The release of the vlog, which had been delayed due to the Hidden Boss's regeneration, received more attention than expected. Originally, the vlog would have only attracted the attention of fans of a few hunters, including Hyeon Gyu-ha and Gong Tae-seong, but it also caught the curiosity of the general public who had heard rumors about the battle within the gate. Whatever the reason, the digital communication team was happy because the number of views was skyrocketing. Shit, I've only heard of dungeon picnis, but they're really picnics They don't even show their noses when they fight, they just show them eating, sleeping, messing around, dismantling their monsters, and digging for resources before it’s over, and that's it ㅋㅋㅋㅋ It's ridiculous. Those B- and M-tier bastards threw a fit whenever someone called it a picnic, so I thought there'd be something amazing, turns out, that’s it’s not. fk ㄴYou showed it a little bit from far awayㅋㅋㅋGong Tae-seong's fire show was cool, but what did Hyeon Gyu-ha do? ㄴㄴ It was just floating in the air the whole time, but because they filmed it from below, the trees blocked the view. He just waved his hand around, and the monsters instantly dropped dead. ㄴㄴ That's actually a lot for them to show.. If you film and release it, you're revealing all your assets, so what kind of idiot would allow that?? Whether it's the researchers or the PR team, they would have inspected the footage taken inside the dungeon before it was released, and the original battle scenes would have been deleted. ㄴㄴㄴHow the hell does this bastard know all this? Is he involved? ㄴㄴㄴLooks like there's no way we'll ever see that last gate footage... I heard three S-ranks completely annihilated it, and I'm dying to know how incredible that was... ㄴㄴㄴㄴIs it even possible for anyone to defeat a hidden boss by yourself, let alone a boss? Isn't this just an unplay to cover up the hidden boss respawning??? ㄴㄴㄴㄴㄴThere are witnesses everywhere, but sure enough, some fool always crawls out of the woodwork, acting like they're the only truly objective one ㄴBut after seeing it in the video, it's actually better than I thought. I didn't even bother getting a hunter's license because I thought the skill was useless, but now I'm thinking about taking the test while I'm at itㅎㅎ ㄴㄴIt's not a difficult test, and I don't think there's anything wrong with having a license. -Why did Gong Tae-seong go on a picnic? Is Narsha Guild's situation so bad that the guild leader has to go to the trouble of scolding her again? Is Qin Shi Huang still alive? [TL note: Qin Shi Huang, the first emperor of China] ㄴGrandma, the time when Gong Taeseong was the young head of the family at Uranus passed a long time ago ㄴIt seems like he's been getting along pretty well with the public service hunters lately, even during the last erosion gate. ㄴㄴPerhaps Choi Jin-hyeok helped him because they're close? ㄴㄴㄴDoes Gong Tae-seong kicking Choi Jin-hyuk at 11 minutes and 49 seconds look like 'being close' to you? And his legs are ridiculously long even thenㅋㅋㅋ - Hyeon Gyu-ha (Hunter, 28 years old) was alive...? I thought it was a fairy who only existed inside a screen, but I saw him walking... breathing... eating... roasting marshmallows... talking... sleeping... hearing voices... blinking his eye... ㄴFairy = Flying Hyeon Gyu-ha = Flying Hyeon Gyu-ha = Fairy ㅂㅂㅂㄱ ㄴㄴSeeing someone that big crouch down and meticulously wiggle their fingers to toast marshmallows is just too damn cute ㅠㅠ He really is a fairy ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ Wish they'd shown him eating it too ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ ㄴBut is it real? ㅋㅋㅋsince we only ever heard about him unless he was being secretly filmed, it felt like he wasn't a person but an AI secretly created by the country. But these days, he's appearing in so many photos and videos that it's finally sinking in that he's actually human. ㅋㅋㅋ Now it's time to make a Gyu documentary about it. I still can't believe our harmless kid, who just adorably wiggles his fingers while roasting marshmallows, apparently single-handedly beat a hidden boss Those jerks who'd pick a fight every time their cooldown was up, claiming the top rank was just all talk and no substance, it's so funny how they've all shut up nowㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ ㄴHyeon Gyu-ha is harmless? Are you out of your mind? ㄴㄴDid Gyuh-ha drink and hit a civilian? Did he do drugs? Did he cause a disturbance outside a gate? Did he drunk drive? Does he have a criminal record? My kid is just a crazy eccentric who wants to crawl around on all fours and be babied at his boyfriend's house, that's all ㄴㄴㄴㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ In the meantime, didn't he get dumped by his boyfriend again...? There were always those people who'd subtly mock Kkyu by calling him a 'one-man army,' saying he only solo-played because he wasn't skilled enough and didn't want to be exposed, right? Well, he just took on a hidden boss that was herding monsters like a whole legion, didn't he? ㅋㅋㅋㅋ And he even beat it solo after getting debuffed? ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ ㄴMy senior was a hunter who participated in the operation at that time, so I heard a bit about itㅋㅋㅋ He said that he saw and heard that day that there were only 3 artifacts used as weaponsㅋㅋㅋ I wonder how many there would be if we searched his inventory ㄴㄴDon't tell me he also has like, two bound artifacts at a time, right? ㄴㄴㄴOh come on, no way. That's a bit much. They say just using one drains your mana dry! Hey, what do these pictures have in common? (Data warning) Are you saying he’s handsome? ㄴI've seen those eyes somewhere before. ㄴㄴ No way, he's not next to his boyfriend, is he?ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ ㄴㄴㄴ his boyfriend is not an awakener, right? ㄴㄴㄴㄴSince it's a park, maybe he followed along for the picnic...? ㄴㄴㄴ if it's true that he smile while looking at his boyfriend, you can see his boyfriend's face reflected in Hyeon Gyu-ha’s eyes. ㄴㄴㄴㄴ what the fuck are you going to do with that? ㄴㄴㄴㄴ Back then, we were so busy desperately trying to squeeze out any little bit of content, we didn't even notice these brain-dead idiots. But now, with all the new user influx, they're ruining everything. It's so annoying. ㄴㄴㄴㄴDidn't you see that the kid who got sued for leaving a bad comment on his boyfriend posted a comment?ㅋㅋㅋㅋ I wonder what will happen to you tooㅋㅋㅋㅋ Try itㅋㅋㅋ One afternoon, after finishing work and yawning in boredom, Kim Ji-yeon gave him a box as a gift. It was very light compared to its size. “I’m grateful to Yoo-shin- ssi for all the things he’s done for me. But I’m not sure if Yoo-shin- ssi would like the fact that he’s dating Hunter- nim .” “Hunter?” In Yoo-shin opened the box in a daze and his eyes widened. It was the first time I had seen this object, but I could tell what it was as soon as I saw it. ------ Credits: Translator: Hoshi Miya Editor/Proofreader: If you wanna become a translator, editor or proofreader, please use the discord link given below and follow the instructions in the recruit channel. “W-what are you doing there!” “Squeak!” In the end, he ended up waking up 6- se . In Yoo-shin bowed and apologized to 6- se and looked back at the window. His heart was still pounding with fear. Outside the window, which was closed only with the screen closed because it was summer, a man with the same color scheme as the twins in the dream was crouching in the air, hugging his knees. Hyeon Gyu-ha scratched the screen with his fingers with a sullen expression. “I woke up at dawn and I was worried about my master and I missed you so much...... But I can’t wake Master up from his deep sleep….” “…….” “Just to hear the sound of breathing……………….” "………………Uh, I'll just tell you the door lock password." “You don’t have to go that far since you’re not a stalker.” I don't know what the difference is between hearing someone breathing outside my window and stalking, but I woke up so shocked. I think my lifespan was shortened by about 4 seconds. I couldn't keep leaving him outside, so I brought him inside for now. “I’m just a marble statue stuck in the corner of the room, so ignore me and get ready for work. I won’t bother you.” He squatted down. Hyeon Gyu-ha was literally sitting quietly next to 6- se ’s cage. “Have you had breakfast?” “Master, just hearing the sound of your breathing makes me full. Oh, Yoo-shin- ssi , I made and brought you breakfast. Do you want to eat?” When I heard that he had brought food, I was startled and nervous, thinking about his bad and unhealthy exercise diet from before, but fortunately, it was just a regular whole wheat bread sandwich. It was egg mayo, which In Yoo-shin likes. "I'll wash up and come back soon." In Yoo-shin, who entered the bathroom, cleared his throat. Hyeon Gyu-ha probably didn’t hear me talking about Stoya or Stoyan while sleeping, but the colors in my dream were so vivid that I was overly surprised earlier. It was as if he had just jumped out of my dream. As he washed his hair, he tried to sort out the tangled thoughts in his mind. In this world where In Yoo-shin lives, Stoyan and Stoya probably lived ordinary lives and died. But what if there was a world where Stoyan and Stoya were sacrificed to complete the city? How likely is it that that world is ®ÀÇ? A tale from the old Serbia, now commonly referred to as Romania. The illegitimate child of a king whose father was the king. Stoya's bloodline. Nzinga, who called Stoya the king. Putting aside the fact that it was impossible to explain the logical causal relationship, it felt like it was somewhat plausible to assume that Stoya and Stoyan were kings. Above all, the fact that they had amber-colored eyes, rare enough to be called Wolf Eye, added weight to the guess. If there is a world where God intervenes, as Hyeon Gyu-ha said, wouldn't it be possible for an ordinary brother and sister who were born a long time ago to still be alive today? Or for the older brother to fall in love with a woman from another world and have a child with her. “…….” I tried to organize my thoughts, but the more I thought about it, the more my head became tangled. 'Let's think about this slowly. Gyu-ha- ssi would be shocked if he heard that the clue was a dream.' First, I need to get ready for work quickly. In Yoo-shin turned on the shower water and washed away his complicated thoughts along with the soapy water. Hyeon Gyu-ha said he didn't have to eat breakfast, but he felt bad about sitting down to eat alone. “Are you really not going to eat breakfast?” He quickly changed his words as if he noticed the mood. "Then please give me the soybean paste stew you had yesterday." He quickly took out the remaining soybean paste stew and lettuce from the refrigerator, and Hyeon Gyu-ha mixed the rice and ate it. In Yoo-shin also ate a sandwich in front of him. At the gate, in the dungeon, and in the hospital, I had breakfast with Hyeon Gyu-ha, but the fact that the setting had changed to a house made me feel unfamiliar. In Yoo-shin spoke to shake off the unfamiliarity. "How long have you been waiting outside?" “It hasn’t been long since I washed up at home.” "Don't get exposed to the morning dew. Just inside the home if you need to." I've come in with the door open before, so what's there to be shy about? In Yoo-shin drank his milk while thinking about such things. "Actually, I have a confession to make." "Yes?" “When Seong-gil Hyung fixed the front door and made Yoo-shin recognize his mana pattern, I secretly injected my mana into it as well.” “…….” “But please rest assured that I am not a stalker, but a well-mannered pet rat, so I will not come in without permission in the future.” "………………yes." In Yoo-shin decided not to think about it any further and just eat a delicious breakfast. “Squeak! Squeak!” “I will work hard and earn money.” He left the house after 8- se 's farewell. As he was locking the front door, In Yoo-shin's shoulders jerked as an ominous thought suddenly occurred to him. “Excuse me, Gyu-ha- ssi . You didn’t bring a car when you came………………, did you?” If my ominous feeling is true, this time I will somehow escape and go to work by subway. Hyeon Gyu-ha made a very regretful expression. "I wore a jacket today. I'll only drive a car when I wear a suit." In doing so, he presented a difficult choice. “Hyeon Gyu-ha wearing a suit and driving a sports car vs. Hyeon Gyu-ha wearing a jacket and riding a bike.” “……!” “I will follow your taste, Master.” I really, really, really, really want to see Hyeon Gyu-ha in a perfect three-piece suit, but…… 'Why is there an option to drive a car there!' A deep anguish came over me, just like when I heard my parents ask me, 'Do you like Mommy or Daddy?' “Just wear a suit and ride a bike!” “The biker look is completed with a black leather jacket.” It was such an excellent reason that there was no room for refutation, so I was almost convinced in a word. Once a month…… No, once every ten days, wouldn’t I be able to somehow endure it? Since humans are creatures of adaptation, there might come a day when I can enjoy Hyeon Gyu-ha’s driving. While others pay to enjoy thrills at amusement parks, I get a free tour course to the underworld every ten days…… “Wow!” As he was walking down the stairs, lost in thought, he stumbled. His body swayed violently in the air, but before he could fall, a strong arm gently wrapped itself around his waist. And the arm that had been wrapped around his waist released his grip faster than when it had been wrapped as soon as it had supported In Yoo-shin upright. “T-thank you. I almost rolled over.” “When you’re walking down the street, sometimes you almost fall even though your feet aren’t even there and there’s nothing there.” “How did you know?" “It's due to having a weak core. Let’s exercise.” “…….” In Yoo-shin turned away from Hyeon Gyu-ha. Exercise... I think I should do some. I should run on the treadmill starting tomorrow. Starting tomorrow. Seriously, starting tomorrow. “But seriously, you’re saying that you carry around a bike and jacket as a set because it’s cool?” “No. It’s just convenient. A bike is lighter than a car, so it’s easier to carry around or put in the inventory in case of emergency. What controls my brain is not my face(kao), but my deep love for my Master.” "Yes." It was a conversation no different from usual, but a subtle sense of discomfort crossed my mind. If it were Hyun Gyu Ha, he would have rubbed my waist even after supporting me up…… In Yoo-shin glanced at the status window. [Current status: Murderous. Affectionate. Anxious.] ......What is the anxiety that keeps showing up after coming out of the dungeon? He quietly grabbed Hyeon Gyu-ha, who was looking back at him with a face that asked if he was going to go down. “Gyu-ha- ssi . It’s not that I had ulterior motives, but if it was because of me, it was because I wanted to help you. What happened in the dungeon?” Hyeon Gyu-ha, who seemed to be hesitating, blushed slightly at the back of his neck and wiggled his fingers. He looked very embarrassed for some reason. In Yoo-shin also hesitated. What happened that made Hyeon Gyu-ha, of all people, so embarrassed that he couldn’t even speak properly? The glancing gaze gently swept over In Yoo-shin's left hand, then quickly dispersed into a sigh. “If I say it now, I feel like I’ll just get confirmed and killed………………… My Master always looks at me with such confidence like last night, but compared to him, I feel like such a pathetic person.” In Yoo-shin's mouth opened slightly. Where can you find someone as shameless, or rather confident, as Hyeon Gyu-ha? “I want to be a pet rat that can stand proudly next to its owner without being abandoned by working hard. Until then, I will endure it by pricking my thigh with a needle.” There was something else stored in the thigh…… No, that wasn’t it. I was so surprised by the sight that was so unlike Hyeon Gyu-ha that my consciousness was stretching in a strange direction. He quickly shook off his thoughts and grabbed Hyeon Gyu-ha’s hand. His hand visibly flinched and his cheeks turned red again. [Current status: Murderous. Affection. Anxiety. Thrill.] Still, this time it was a positive feeling. “I’m okay with it anytime, so if you want to talk to me, please do.” “……I’ll hold on for 5 minutes.” ------ Credits: Translator: Hoshi Miya Editor/Proofreader: If you wanna become a translator, editor or proofreader, please use the discord link given below and follow the instructions in the recruit channel. “Do you remember what Yoo-shin- ssi said when I was contemplating whether to die or not at the Erosion Gate?” "………………yes." “Honestly, I wish people who want to commit suicide would just be left alone. That’s a decision they’ve made after suffering and worrying enough, so why should someone else interfere? It’s not like they’re going to suffer in their place.” “…….” "So when Yoo-shin- ssi said that, I wasn't offended at all………………. I really want to hold on to you right now. But I don't know how to hold on to you." A pale hand without blood grabbed In Yoo-shin’s arm. It hurt a little, perhaps because he unconsciously used strength, but In Yoo-shin just bit his lips tightly. The reason Hyeon Gyu-ha’s voice was dry was because he was suppressing emotions that were like a tidal wave. The man who said that now holds onto In Yoo-shin. As if he were to let go of her hand, he would lose him forever. “Should I not have saved you back then? Should I have ignored the will of Yoo-shin- ssi 's mother, who asked that her son and husband be spared?” The answer to the former was ‘yes.’ But the answer to the latter was...… I don't know. “It’s not Gyu-ha- ssi ’s fault. It’s me who has the problem…………….” “I can’t hold onto you, but can’t you think about other people? During the 14 years you received as a gift from your parents, you met Park Seung-gi and the monks at the orphanage(temple), right?” “…….” “If you feel like your parents should have abandoned you 14 years ago.... then you shouldn’t think of them like that?” Of course, I've thought about it countless times now. All the precious and good relationships I've met in my extended life despite my parents' sacrifice. But still. I couldn't deny my grandmother's cries. "………………I'll try that." Will he believe this lie? Or will he pretend to believe it? It is impossible to know. In Yoo-shin closed his eyes and wrapped his arms around Hyeon Gyu-ha's back. The man's back, which had always seemed broad, now felt very fragile. The person who should have been angry was the one who had a hard time holding himself back. That fact weighed heavily on In Yoo-shin's heart, and he couldn't say anything else. How should I repay this person? *** "6- seya . Have you been having fun?" “Squeak!” “I wish you could eat meat with me too. Don’t you think so?” In Yoo-shin gently stroked 6- se . 6- se sniffed harder than usual, perhaps because of the smell of meat, and rubbed his face against it. After playing with 6- se , he laid down on the mattress and played with his cell phone. I wonder if Hyeon Gyu-ha has gotten home by now? After the long and short conversation, Hyeon Gyu-ha, who had cleaned up the rooftop, hesitated and couldn't easily go back. He looked like he was looking at someone who would disappear at any moment if he left, so In Yoo-shin pretended to smile. Even after hearing those words, Hyeon Gyu-ha, who was unable to move, was forcibly pushed back and sent home. Only after seeing it disappear into the sky did In Yoo-shin return inside. “Let’s do it as usual. As usual!” After telling myself as if he was making a promise, he sent a text message 'as usual'. [Did you get home safely?] As soon as he checked the text, Hyeon Gyu-ha called him right away. Although his voice was slightly calm, it seemed like Hyeon Gyu-ha was trying to treat him like usual. -Because it's a distance that can be traveled in just one second. Even if you fly through the sky, it's impossible to get to Hyeon Gyu-ha's officetel in just one second, but he just snickered. Even ridiculous boasts are cute. -If you ever have trouble falling asleep alone at night, call me anytime. I'll be there right away if you need me. “Gyu-ha- ssi , aren’t you sleeping?” -If the Master calls, I have to take the call immediately, even if I’m dreaming of a secret date with him at the movie theater. “W-what kind of dream is that?” The conversation continued as usual, leisurely and pleasantly, until the call ended with a good night greeting. In Yoo-shin felt the lingering sound of the voice in his ear and then touched the phone again. I knew it wouldn't repay him, but I thought it might be useful to know a little more. I couldn't pronounce 'Stoya' again, but I was concerned that it was an Eastern European name. I tried to type 'Stoya' into my phone, but my fingers wouldn't move properly as if there was an invisible, transparent wall blocking my way. He remembered what Hyeon Gyu-ha said the other day. Then, would it be possible to completely abandon the idea of ®ÀÇ as a stoya? In Yoo-shin closed his eyes and tried to empty his mind of thoughts. I am not trying to find ®ÀÇ, but the stoya of the iron age in which I live. After thinking about it again, he moved his fingers again. This time, it was entered correctly. I searched for Stoya and Romania just in case, but there was no meaningful information. Even if I added the gods and world kings that Nzinga had mentioned, it was the same. 'Is it an irrelevant name…….' It seems that my guess was wrong . In Yoo-shin, who was about to close the search window, tried searching in English one last time. There were more related pages than when he searched in Korean. In Yoo-shin's eyes widened as he slowly scrolled down. A page containing folktales from the old Serbia region caught his eye. When the city the king was trying to build collapsed every night, he was worried about what to do and went to see a fairy. The fairy gave him advice on what he needed to do to complete the city. The twin sisters named Stoyan and Stoya will be buried under the headstone. Or the wife of one of the king's brothers will be buried under the plinth. After much thought, the king made his choice. The king, who refused the advice of the fairies, persistently built the crumbling castle, and the fairies who had been destroying the king's city every night eventually retreated. Thus, the king completed the city. “Hmm.” I had a strange feeling, so I read the story over and over again, and 8-se came crawling, perhaps out of curiosity. "Squeak." “Beep.” “Ah, I wonder what you’re reading? Should I tell you an old story?” “Squeak!” In Yoo-shin read the tale carefully. I had the thought that if I could somehow teach it, I might be able to teach 8-se Korean alphabet. 8- se tilted his head after hearing the explanation. In Yoo-shin smiled brightly because he was so adorable. Although not as cute as Hyeon Gyu-ha, 8-se was also very cute. That night, 8-se quietly came out of the cage and approached the sleeping In Yoo-shin’s bedside. 8- se stood up on his hind legs and carefully rubbed his face against his Master’s forehead so as not to wake him up. With only the moonlight streaming in from the window, 6- se witnessed the sight of the faint light spreading from 8- se 's face and enveloping In Yoo-shin. *** I had a dream. The dream of young twins who escaped to the ends of the earth. The king sent soldiers to complete the city, and the twins, abandoned by their parents, were captured without anyone's help. The sister sobbed in resignation, and the brother cried out in hatred. Stoya and Stoyan. That's what the twins called each other. In Yoo-shin woke up from his sleep amid the sobs of Stoya being buried underground. “…….” It was really rare for me to wake up before the alarm went off. In the hazy consciousness where the sleepiness hadn’t gone away, the afterimage of the dream floated vaguely. In Yoo-shin slowly blinked his eyebrows. What was that dream just now? 'Did you fall asleep while looking for a fairy tale?' But didn't the king finish building the castle without burying people alive under the foundation stone? I wondered if I had a bad dream because I was worried for nothing, but the twins' appearance bothered me so much that I couldn't just dismiss it as something trivial. The face was not clearly visible as if covered in fog, but the colors were clear. Light flaxen hair and vivid amber eyes... a familiar color combination. His mind became complicated. In Yoo-shin, who was slowly opening the curtains so as not to wake up 6- se who was dozing off, thinking that he should get ready for work first, almost fainted. ------ Credits: Translator: Hoshi Miya Editor/Proofreader: If you wanna become a translator, editor or proofreader, please use the discord link given below and follow the instructions in the recruit channel. Hyeon Gyu-ha winked his left eye and placed his index finger on the corner of his mouth. It was a face I had seen before. “Secrets make men beautiful.” “What are you going to do if you become more beautiful there…….” “I will be loved more by Master than by a bastard.” Well, 8-se is cute. Maybe because he is intelligent, he has more diverse expressions than regular hamsters, and it was cute how he makes all kinds of noises. But…….... 'Of course, isn't Gyu-ha- ssi cuter?' The words were murmured inside me, but I opened the front door first because I thought 8-se inside the house would be very disappointed if he heard what I said. I should tell him later when we are alone. That day, In Yoo-shin discovered that Hyeon Gyu-ha's ability was also very useful when cleaning. Using psychokinesis, he was able to lift things easily and sweep and clean even the corners that he normally couldn't reach. Next time I do a major cleaning, I'll definitely ask Hyeon Gyu-ha to clean everything, including the refrigerator and under the shelves. Time passed quickly as he had a heated meeting with the two hamsters and was cleaning up. One of the few advantages of living in an attic is having a pork belly party on the rooftop with a great view, but In Yoo-shin hasn't been able to do that once in the two years he's lived there. The only person he can call and meet is Park Seung-gi, but it's a hassle to prepare a lot of things for the two of them to grill meat in the attic. It's not like they can meet and eat together often. “So you’ve never eaten anything on the rooftop?” “When the weather was nice, I ate alone.” “Then let’s grill some meat together. I’m happy to share one of your first experiences, Master.” “Oh, I’m not prepared at all?” “All of the pet mouse’s cards are yours, Master.” Hyeon Gyu-ha immediately took In Yoo-shin to a nearby mart and bought charcoal, a brazier, a cauldron lid, a grill pan, etc. Of course, he also stopped by a butcher shop to buy some pork shoulder and soybean paste stew. As the sun set, cool air began to flow into the attic. “For our first experience.” In Yoo-shin blushed slightly and clinked his soju glass together. The nuance of the words “first experience” sounded strange, but I was probably overreacting. ……There really wasn’t any other meaning, was there? 8- se , who had regained his energy, ate the meat Hyeon Gyu-ha grilled for him. It was a shame that he couldn't eat the wrap because his mouth was too small. I thought he would really like it. 8- se was eating meat and looking at the brazier with a curious look. Then, when he was lifting the grill to clean it, he accidentally tripped. “Squeak!” “8- seya !” Just before falling onto the red-hot charcoal, a small body that fit perfectly in the palm of one's hand stopped in midair. Hyeon Gyu-ha clicked his tongue and sat 8- se back down on the table. “What are you doing here, without paying attention, in front of your Master? You useless brat.” 8- se fainted without saying a word. Even though there was a bit of a mishap, dinner was very delicious. In Yoo-shin looked at the street lights gradually getting brighter as darkness approached. I had seen countless night views from this rooftop, but had I ever exclaimed in admiration like this? Suddenly, he looked back and saw Hyeon Gyu-ha and the scenery of 8- se . This scenery, more beautiful than the night view, was In Yoo-shin's daily life. Was it okay to hide the confusion in my heart from the person who had given me such a beautiful view? In Yoo-shin felt very ashamed of himself for not being honest and avoiding things. Hyeon Gyu-ha came through the dangerous fire and saved my life when I was young. But what would he think if he found out that he regretted it and said that he should have died there? No matter how much he was bound by taming, it would never feel good. ……You will definitely be disappointed in me. In Yoo-shin lowered his head and hid his face, pretending to drink soju. Would it be better for him to be disappointed? If he were to feel deep disappointment, he might know which of his feelings were true. Then there is no reason for him to be tangled up in taming anymore, and there is no reason for me to become his fatal weakness. He will no longer be hurt because of me. If only I could endure Hyeon Gyu-ha’s cold gaze. I imagined his cold gaze. There was a bitter feeling welling up deep in my heart. If my feelings at this moment could also be read by the system, they would be filled with the word anxiety. In Yoo-shin was at a loss for words. Why was I feeling anxious? This should be the result I had hoped for. '……I think I'm too selfish.' If so, then the least I can do is face my fears rather than avoid them. In Yoo-shin swallowed dry saliva. “Gyu-ha- ssi .” " Unn ?" “I have something to say……………….” At those words, Hyeon Gyu-ha, who was clearing the table, sat down next to him and took the attitude of listening. Since there were no lights on the rooftop, Hyeon Gyu-ha’s face was not clearly visible. I’m glad, perhaps……. The weak part of his heart muttered. Even if he showed an unprecedented coldness on his face, it wouldn’t be noticeable. However, In Yoo-shin soon shook his head. That was just evasion. The evasion I had been doing until now. In Yoo-shin carefully parted his lips, trying not to miss even the slightest hint of emotion that appeared on Hyeon Gyu-ha’s face. “I should have told you sooner, but it’s too late. Thank you so much for saving me 14 years ago.” “…….” A look of surprise filled Hyeon Gyu-ha's face, which was faintly shining. He made a breathless expression for a moment, then groaned softly and rubbed his face roughly. "………………Did you know?" "I remembered it at the last gate. The pendant that Gyu-ha- ssi had was what gave me the memory." In Yoo-shin relayed what Nzinga had said. Hyeon Gyu-ha, who had been listening silently, let out a heavy sigh. "When I found out that the owner of the stone that was up for auction was Nzinga, I was worried that maybe the trauma from when my parents passed away would come back to me. Fortunately, that didn't happen, but why on earth did the pendant bring back Yoo-shin's memories……………….” "I don't know about that... but it's entirely my fault for not saying anything right away." In Yoo-shin continued speaking slowly, folding his hands on his knees. "When I found out that it was Gyu-ha- ssi who saved me 14 years ago, I had that thought for a moment. Gyu-ha- ssi shouldn't have saved me." “…….” “It’s a really bad idea. But I still don’t know. Was there a reason my parents went to all that trouble to save me……………. If they were alive and not an ordinary person like me, they would have saved many more people………………. That’s why I couldn’t thank you, Gyu-ha- ssi . I’m sorry.” Isn't that an absurdly selfish thing to say? How is this any different from criticizing someone who jumped into the fire to save you at such a young age, someone who you learned to believe in love after seeing your parents, and saying that there was no need for that? It was right for him to immediately despise, get angry, criticize, and turn away. In Yoo-shin clenched his fists, trying not to be shocked by whatever emotion was on his face. Hyeon Gyu-ha covered his face with his palm and remained silent for a while. In Yoo-shin bit his dry lower lip. He must be really upset. It must be the first time he has encountered someone who says something like that after saving him. “I’m really sorry…………….” Just as he was about to open his mouth again, he felt something fall on his shoulder. Burying his face on In Yoo-shin’s shoulder, Hyeon Gyu-ha whispered in a dry voice. “Yoo-shin- ssi , do you want to die?” It was impossible to read the emotion in the dry voice. However, In Yoo-shin felt as if he was falling just by the weight touching his shoulder and answered. “It’s not that I want to commit suicide. ……………… But I think that if there is a moment or opportunity where I can help someone through my death, I’ll accept it without avoiding it. If my death has any value, it is because it is a chance to repay my parents who saved me and passed away……………….” In Yoo-shin, who had been speaking slowly, stopped belatedly. He felt Hyeon Gyu-ha’s face, leaning on his shoulder, tremble slightly. When did it start? When I leaned on him? Or when I brought up the subject? The tip of the dry voice flowing thinly between Hyeon Gyu-ha’s lips trembled slightly. It was a desperation that In Yoo-shin had never dared to imagine. ------ Credits: Translator: Hoshi Miya Editor/Proofreader: If you wanna become a translator, editor or proofreader, please use the discord link given below and follow the instructions in the recruit channel. 'KTS……. No way, those aren't the guild leader Gong's initials, right? No way……!' It wasn't even just a font with initials engraved on it, but a font designed with flowers and plants. It seemed like the intention was to increase the capacity by expanding the area where Oreichalcos was used. The theory that he was a gay who had a fake marriage with a third generation chaebol rose from the depths of his memory. Even while he was thinking, “No way, no way,” when he had the chance, Han Jun-su began praising Gong Tae-seong until his mouth was dry. It was almost like the nonsense that Hyeon Gyu-ha always told himself. Anyway, after listening to it, I could really feel that he really liked and admired Gong Tae-seong in a pure sense, so I was able to calm down. Can't we understand it as a kind of friendship tattoo? Of course, it seems that Gong Tae-seong has absolutely no tattoos related to Han Jun-su on his body....... In Yoo-shin decided to erase from his memory the fact that Han Jun-su's tattoo was drawn in the same place as Gong Tae-seong's artifact tattoo. “Our guild leader might have a terrible personality, but they are incredibly good to their people. This tattoo is something they paid for out of their own pocket back when our guild didn't have money. Before that, we could barely carry the tools for managing our weapons.” "Whoa." “He told me to study what I wanted to study and even supported me through graduate school, but then I had a sudden awakening. I immediately dropped out of graduate school and went to work for the guild leader.” “Whoa.” “My cousin and the guild leader are my benefactors. I will follow them for the rest of my life.” “But you went to graduate school, so don’t you regret quitting your studies?” “Because I like working with the guild leader more than studying.” At some point, Kwon Seong-gil and his disciple were listening to Han Jun-soo's story with interest. “This guy goes around telling everyone he meets about this story. It’s really getting on my nerves. Anyway, Tae-seong has a very sensitive face and a prickly personality, but he’s actually a bit weak-hearted.” In Yu-shin also nodded while listening to Kwon Seong-gil's evaluation. He certainly didn't seem like a bad person. He also bought 8-se’s cage. 'It seems like Gyu-ha- ssi and him aren't on good terms....... Ha!' Remembering that he had ended up agreeing while listening to Gong Tae-seong's story next to Hyeon Gyu-ha, In Yoo-shin quickly looked up. Fortunately, Hyeon Gyu-ha, who had been holding his shoulder from behind, didn't seem to have read In Yoo-shin's expression. There were times when being short was a good thing. Hyeon Gyu-ha nodded while caressing In Yoo-shin's shoulder. “What did you major in in graduate school?” “It’s a terrible money-maker. I majored in linguistics and dialects. I was studying the Northeastern dialect, but then I had a sudden awakening and ended up working a completely unrelated job.” “Hmm.” Hyeon Gyu-ha, who was not interested in others, showed a little interest for some reason. When he glanced up again, their eyes met. He smiled faintly, lowered his waist, and whispered softly in In Yoo-shin’s ear. "I was just curious about your major. I only see you, Master." For some reason, his cheeks turned red at the low whispering that was barely audible to his ears. Instead of answering, In Yoo-shin gently squeezed Hyeon Gyu-ha’s finger that was wrapped around his shoulder. Han Jun-su, who had been chatting excitedly, said he was late and finished his order before leaving. In Yoo-shin and Hyeon Gyu-ha also finished their conversation with Kwon Seong-gil. “It’ll take some time because I can’t get the materials right now. I’ll contact you later, so stop by for a mana injection.” “Okay. See you then!” He bowed and left the workshop. There were many new and interesting items that I had never seen before, but since I went during a busy time, I couldn’t look around properly. In Yoo-shin wiggled his fingers without realizing it as a sudden thought occurred to him. Hyeon Gyu-ha, who couldn’t miss that sight, asked. “Did you forget anything?” "That's not it... Hyung- nim was very busy today. I was thinking that it would be nice if I could come and take a look around the workshop next time when he is free." “But why do you look so nervous?” Do I look nervous? In Yoo-shin rubbed his face. "I feel like I had such shameless thoughts when it came to someone as great as Hyung- nim ." “Given that we're close enough to visit each other's homes, what's wrong with checking out the workshop?” Hyeon Gyu-ha smiled faintly and caressed In Yoo-shin's forehead. “Since Seong-gil Hyung and Hye-yeon Noona both like you, you can be a little more shameless, Yoo-shin- ssi . If the two of them had met earlier and fallen in love, there would have been a girl as old as Yoo-shin- ssi .” Can I consider us a little closer? In Yoo-shin rubbed his face again. He wasn't sure what kind of expression he was making. “And Master always forgets, but I am more amazing.” “Well, Gyu-ha- ssi .... Because you’re Gyu-ha- ssi .” “What does that mean?” When Hyeon Gyu-ha looked at him with narrowed eyes, In Yoo-shin pretended not to notice. “Of course it means something good.” “I didn’t hear it that way, but I’ll let it slide based on the five virtues of a pet rat.” What on earth could the rest of the clauses be? With those thoughts in mind, he lightly grabbed the sleeve of his riding jacket. For a moment, Hyeon Gyu-ha stopped walking and flinched, but before In Yoo-shin could look up in wonder, he naturally stepped forward and continued walking. The hand that was wrapping its fingers around the sleeve of the jacket felt somehow pale. "Oh, Bum Hyung. I met Team Leader Kwon, and he said it takes time to procure the ingredients to replace the arrow feathers with the Wong top. It'll be quick if you source the ingredients yourself." "Okay. I'll just go around and collect the feathers." “Is the guild leader still up there?” "We haven't left yet." After relaying the matter to Jang Beom, Han Jun-su stopped by the support team and then went back up to Gong Tae-seong's office. Today, Gong Tae-seong was scheduled to visit the Ministry of Ability to negotiate with Director Ah regarding the compensation for his contribution in conquering the gate of the 'King Who Respects Even a Single Blade of Grass'. His direct secretary, Han Jun-su, also became busy. Despite his busy schedule, he found time to talk to In Yoo-shin because he really liked him. 'It's still a mystery how a child who looks as innocent as a squirrel ended up meeting Hyeon Gyu-ha.' The more I look at it, the more I think he suits Hyeon Gyu-ha to be caught. “Guild Leader, I’m back.” Gong Tae-seong nodded lightly as he was leaving the office after finishing his preparations. “Did you finish your business at the workshop well?” “Except for the fact that Beom Hyung didn’t get the materials for the arrow feathers he asked for. By the way, I also met Yoo-shin and Hyeon Gyu-ha.” Gong Tae-seong glanced up. “The discharge was pretty quick.” “It seems like Hyeon Gyu-ha was hospitalized because he was overreacting. It’s understandable that he would have overreacted since he was kidnapped by the hidden boss.” Han Jun-su continued to chatter as he walked back towards the elevator behind him. “It seems like they’re trying to increase the capacity of the inventory to store the artifact that Hyeon Gyu-ha won at the auction. From what I’ve heard, it seems like their weight limit is lower than mine.” Gong Tae-seong, who had been letting Han Jun-su's chatter go in one ear and out the other, suddenly opened his lips at those words. His gaze was still focused indifferently ahead. “Oreichalcos?” "Yes." “Then I will visit Master Kwon’s workshop at least twice from now on.” “Well, I guess so.” He wondered why he was curious about such a thing, but before he could ask, Gong Tae-seong was already walking ahead with brisk strides. *** He had an early lunch and stopped by Kwon Seong-gil's studio for a bit before heading home. Even though he had come up to the rooftop, the sun was still bright out. He didn't do anything at the hospital and just rested, but it wasn't as comfortable as home. Hyeon Gyu-ha must be tired to some extent. He knew in his head that he had to say goodbye and tell him to go back and rest, but it wasn't easy to say it out loud. It's strange. Is it because of the emptiness that came over me when I thought about parting ways with Hyeon Gyu-ha after spending all day with him since Sunday evening? If I were to guess that way, it would be even more strange. Even though we were hospitalized in the same hospital room for a week during the erosion gate, I was no different than usual. Hyeon Gyu-ha noticed her hesitating and tilted his gaze. “What are you going to do when you get home?” “Um, I have to take care of 6- se , feed 8- se , and clean up the house a bit since I’m away from home a lot.” “Virtue 21 of a Pet Mouse: Helping the Master Clean Up.” “Gyu-ha- ssi , you couldn’t sleep well at night because of me. You must have been tired from the gate too.” “If I run the 50-meter dash, how many seconds do you think it will take me?” I don't know exactly, but I'm sure it'll be faster than 11 seconds. That must mean that he has better stamina than me. The feeling of emptiness has disappeared as if it was washed away. “What are the remaining virtues?” ------ Credits: Translator: Hoshi Miya Editor/Proofreader: If you wanna become a translator, editor or proofreader, please use the discord link given below and follow the instructions in the recruit channel. Hyeon Gyu-ha, who had been unusually silent, suddenly covered his eyes with his hands and avoided In Yoo--shin's face. He seemed very embarrassed. “Why are you doing this?” “………………Master, you are so dazzling. A holy halo shines so brightly that a filthy human like me cannot even dare to look at you………………. How could such a dirty, trashy creature have such a holy master as Yoo-shin- ssi ………………. I am truly blessed……………….” This was a new pattern. Even In Yoo-shin, who usually ignored his nonsense, blushed with embarrassment. "………………Anyway, do you have it?" "There is something called………………. ‘Eye of Munin’………………." Hyeon Gyu-ha took out a new artifact from the inventory with an extremely embarrassed face and offered it with both hands. It seemed that, aside from weapons, there were several times more items in his inventory than the things in In Yoo-shin’s house. The artifact presented with great reverence was carved in the shape of a small, flying raven, just as the myth describes a pair of ravens reporting to Odin. “If I use ‘Eyes of Munin’, I can see your movements 24 hours a day. Is that okay? Honestly, this is also very useful for stalking.” “I’m just at home all the time unless I’m meeting Gyu-ha- ssi or Seung-gi. It’s not like I go to any weird places that I can’t tell you about, so it’s okay.” “As expected, my holy Master………………. Shouldn’t my Master be praised as one of the five greatest saints in the world?” In Yoo-shin quickly changed his words with a red face. "So what should I do?" “My record of my ownership has already been made, so all you have to do is inject mana into it, Yoo-shin- ssi . If you don’t have mana, you can drop blood.” Hyeon Gyu-ha said, pointing his finger at the air where the Mana was quickly injected. “Yoo-shin- ssi , you can’t see it, but here, in the left………………. No, your location is shown. You’re in a hospital bed.” "Wow, it's so detailed?" “When you enlarge the screen, it updates in real time even if you move less than 1 meter.” In Yoo-shin looked up at the empty space in wonder. Although he couldn't see anything with his own eyes. “Odin’s ravens are Munin and Hugin. Do you happen to have the ‘Eye of Hugin’?” "Yes. As expected, there's nothing our Master doesn't know. It was originally a set artifact with the 'Eye of Munin', but it was discovered 30 years ago and its whereabouts became unknown. I heard that it's much more useful if both sides use a set together... Anyway, since it can be used not only for stalking but also for security, governments around the world are after it, but there's still no news of it being found. Well, they might have hidden it when they found." “How did you get it, Gyu-ha- ssi ?” "I obtained it fair and square from the dungeon." Hyeon Gyu-ha gave an interesting explanation of how he obtained the artifact in the dungeon where Valkyrie was talking to the crow, and In Yoo-shin, who was also amused by the dungeon story, perked up his ears. “All of this arduous farming process is dedicated to the saint In Yoo-shin- nim who came down from heaven to save the lowly, subhuman Hyeon Gyu-ha……………….” In the end, In Yoo-shin ended up covering Hyeon Gyu-ha's mouth with a pillow. *** The embarrassment caused by Hyeon Gyu-ha's ambiguous remarks, whether they were true or false, helped him regain his energy. He also felt bad about taking sick leave during the busy time of the gate clearance, so he was discharged on Tuesday. While he was eating breakfast and packing his bag, Hyeon Gyu-ha suddenly took out 'Mandukai's Booth'(만두카이의 부스) and 'Jung-Gin Cartoon's Buck-Tuck'(중긴 카툰의 벅특) from the inventory. “I almost forgot to give it to you, Master.” It was an artifact worth 30 billion won. In Yoo-shin was extremely nervous and received the artifacts with both hands. When he realized that he was holding 30 billion won, his hands started to tremble. “But where should I keep this? If I leave it at home, I’ll be too scared to go outside because I’m afraid thieves will come in………………… A bank safe?” I was worried that the bank vault would be expensive to use, but Hyun Gyu-ha responded nonchalantly. “You can just put it in your inventory.” “This is too heavy to fit in my inventory.” “………………The two of them combined wouldn’t even weigh 2 kilograms?” “It definitely won’t work.” “……” In Yoo-shin emptied his inventory and showed it to Hyeon Gyu-ha. All he had was a few small bags of hamster food that he had divided up for emergency use. Hyeon Gyu-ha, who saw this, had an expression like a tycoon who had entered a goshiwon for the first time in his life. He was in agony, pressing his forehead with a shocked expression, and only after a long time had passed since In Yoo-shin had finished packing his bags did he finally fall into deep slumber. “There is a crafting item that can slightly increase the capacity of inventory. It has the worst cost-effectiveness, so few people use it……………… It’s not a time to be picky.” “If I add just one more kilogram, I’ll have doubled in weight.” “………………That’s right.” In Yoo-shin just laughed because he found it amusing to see him being shocked one after another like a tycoon experiencing common people's experiences. Actually, I don't need to increase the capacity of the inventory, but I wanted to do something that could help him even a little. Hyeon Gyu-ha doesn't need my buff right now, but if I carry an artifact that increases mana in the inventory, I might be able to help him someday. In Yoo-shin tightly wrapped the ring on his left hand with his right hand as if he was making a pledge. The curve of the hamster poking the skin of his palm seemed to give him strength. Not only is there support from the government, but the guilds that use the items and weapons produced in the workshop are also well-supported. Thanks to this, the workshop streets are densely packed with the highest-quality shield cores that block the approach of the monsters. In Yoo-shin looked around with a curious expression, recalling the joke that it was the safest place after the Blue House and the headquarters of large guilds. “Have you never been to Gongbang Street?” “Because I don’t have any need to buy crafted items.” “Well, come to think of it, I’ve never bought anything from a workshop before.” I have one more thing in common with Hyeon Gyu-ha. Unlike me, he doesn't buy anything because he has more than enough artifacts. "Hyung- nim !" "You're back soon? Congratulations on your discharge. Are you feeling okay?" “After getting an IV, I feel fine.” Before leaving the hospital, Kwon Seong-gil, who had been waiting for Hyeon Gyu-ha’s call, patted In Yoo-shin on the shoulder. A broad smile appeared on In Yoo-shin’s lips, and a small frown appeared between Hyeon Gyu-ha’s eyebrows. In Yoo-shin turned around when Hyeon Gyu-ha, who was behind him, suddenly grabbed the bottom of his T-shirt and pulled it. “Oh, Gyu-ha- ssi . Why?” “……?” Kwon Seong-gil opened his mouth next to the smiling In Yoo-shin. "I couldn't ask you properly because I got a call while I was eating, but it wasn't Gyu-ha, but Yoo-shin's inventory capacity that was expanded?" “I bought an artifact that increases mana to give to Master, but it couldn’t enter the inventory because of its weight. What a fatal mistake……………….” “Ahem, big………………. Okay.” Kwon Sung-gil seemed to have the words ‘What are you going to do with the increased mana of Yoo-shin?’ on the tip of his tongue, but like a wise adult, he did not say them out loud. It was the most benign reaction he had ever experienced, so In Yoo-shin’s eyes were filled with laughter again. “In order to increase the inventory capacity, you need to use Orichalcos, which has the highest mana conductivity, but to be honest, I don’t recommend it. Considering the price, it’s so inefficient that it’s much cheaper to just drag a carrier around.” “How can I make his delicate arms carry such a heavy carrier?” In Yoo-shin glanced down at his arm. But I guess I’ve been working out a bit lately, so I’m not that skinny. “I don’t recommend it, but I can’t not do it if they’re offering me money. It’s not that difficult since the crafting technique is complete, Yoo-shin- ah .” "Yes." “You can come before the process and inject your mana. Before that, think about what kind of tattoo you want.” “A tattoo?” “That’s because it’s not a wearable item. You have to mix Oreichalcos with a special solution made from crystals and tattoo it on your body. Keep in mind that the size of the tattoo will vary depending on the dosage.” I already have tattoos of tamed hamsters and bats on my left wrist, so it wouldn't hurt to get more. “Yoo-shin- ssi , how many kilograms do you want to gain?” “It’s enough to store the artifacts.” A larger capacity would be more convenient, but what else would I put in there besides hamster food or hamster treats? After hearing In Yoo-shin’s answer, Hyeon Gyu-ha started discussing with Kwon Seong-gil. Even though they went into specialized areas such as mixing Oreichalcos and special solutions and procuring materials, he couldn’t properly understand the conversation. As the conversation continued, two men came out of the inner office. One of them was someone In Yoo-shin also knew. “Hello, secretary.” "Yoo-shin- ssi ! I heard you were hospitalized, but you're already discharged? I've been so busy with the Gate incident that I haven't even been able to visit you." It was Han Jun-su who seemed as friendly as Park Seung-gi. The man who came out with him was Kwon Seung-gil’s disciple, so he was introduced separately. Han Jun-su explained that he had come to the workshop in person to order the guild’s weapons that had been consumed at the gate of the ‘King who respects even a single blade of grass.’ “Does your secretary even do things like this?” “Haha. As for me, while my usual job is attending to the Guild Leader, I figured it's good to visit Master Kwon directly, also to show my face. What brings you here, Yushin?” “To increase the inventory capacity.” “Oh, that tattoo? I have that too.” In Yoo-shin was horrified when he saw the tattoo on Han Jun-su's arm as he strode up the sleeves of his suit. *** HM: stap the cliffhangers ------ Credits: Translator: Hoshi Miya Editor/Proofreader: If you wanna become a translator, editor or proofreader, please use the discord link given below and follow the instructions in the recruit channel. CH 10 After a couple of days of settling into Berlin, they began exploring. They started by visiting landmarks, strolling unfamiliar streets, and slowly growing familiar with the neighborhood that, at least for now, was home. They strolled through the nearby park, the air carrying the faint sweetness of flowers in bloom. “The scent of the flowers is lovely……” Yoo Ji-han murmured, quiet joy in his voice. Chae Yoo-jeong glanced at him, then reached over to wrap a grey scarf snugly around his neck. It wasn’t truly cold, but the thought of his hyung catching even the slightest chill worried him. Yoo Ji-han blinked in surprise, then immediately softened into a smile. He tugged the scarf higher, hiding his face in its folds. “Thanks…” he murmured. Chae Yoo-jeong noticed the tips of his ears turning red and couldn’t help but smile. “Anything for you, Hyung.” After wandering through the park a while longer, they decided to visit the university they would be attending in a month’s time. When they arrived, they slowly walked the grounds, taking in the atmosphere. “It’s so peaceful……” Yoo Ji-han murmured. He spun lightly in place, as if dancing with the flowers and the wind. “I don’t want to go back to Korea……. Why do we always overthink things…?” Yoo Ji-han sank softly onto a nearby bench. Chae Yoo-jeong watched him for a moment, lost in thought, before a gentle smile appeared on his face and he spoke softly. “It’s not a bad idea to imagine staying here for the rest of your life. But… you don’t need to worry about that right now. Let’s just enjoy this moment, Hyung.” “Alight……” Yoo Ji-han murmured, a small smile tugging at his lips as he leaned back against the bench. He gazed up at the sky and wiggled his fingers, gently taking Chae Yoo-jeong’s hands. Holding them up, he let their intertwined hands block the sun. The sunlight spilled across his cheeks, casting warmth, shifting hues on his face. Only a smile blossomed. *** Yoo Ji-han and Chae Yoo-jeong planned a weekday outing to the Mall of Berlin, feeling more comfortable navigating the city by now. They wandered through the hallways, popping in and out of various stores, trying on different outfits. Chae Yoo-jeong struck poses as if he were modeling, while Yoo Ji-han tugged at piles of clothes in his hands. “Try this light blue suit. I think it would look great with your hair.” Yoo Ji-han suggested it, and before he knew it, a small crowd had begun to gather. He stepped forward, narrowing his eyes as he told them firmly to leave. One of the people turned out to be a fan of Chae Yoo-jeong. “It’s fine. I can handle this, Hyung.” Chae Yoo-jeong said, dressed in loose white pants and a grey shirt, glancing at Yoo Ji-han as he glared at the girl in front of him. “I’m your fan from Germany! Kyaaaah! I cannot believe you’re here, in Berlin. I have been following you since your e-sports days. I guess you’ve switched over to streaming and modeling now, but I’m still your fan. I love hearing your news from Korea!” Chae Yoo-jeong signed on the book she had handed him, using his special autograph, and returned it with a smile. After a quick handshake, he waved the girl goodbye and turned his gaze back to Yoo Ji-han. The girl watched them for a moment, her thoughts racing. The girl watched them for a moment, her thoughts racing. ‘That must be his lover. I heard he was taking a three-month break from streaming and modeling… I didn’t expect to meet his lover here too…’ She tried to steal a quick glance at Yoo Ji-han. ‘Beautiful……’ When her friends called her name at that same moment, she snapped her head away from her inner thoughts. ‘Oops… I stared too much. I should go now.’ Blushing slightly, she hurried off, her ears tinged red as she disappeared into the crowd. Yoo Ji-han glanced at Chae Yoo-jeong, his expression listless as he thought, ‘I guess he acts normal around other people.’ Chae Yoo-jeong raised an eyebrow, a teasing smile tugging at his lips. “Your expression makes it sound like I would have acted rudely.” Chae Yoo-jeong said, speaking as if he could read Yoo Ji-han’s thoughts. And tapping his shoulder, Chae Yoo-jeong pulled him closer and gave him a small, comforting hug. Then, they turned around together, and Yoo Ji-han began taking some pictures of him. “We have to buy this! It would be a waste if we didn’t!” Yoo Ji-han paused, considering both the price and the value of the clothes. ‘The hefty price… but I should be able to afford this…with my hard-earned money.’ Fumes entered Yoo Ji-han’s eyes as this thought manifested. Chae Yoo-jeong already pulled out this card in front of the cashier. The cashier smiled, took it and scanned it. Yoo Ji-han was a second late and Chae Yoo-jeong beat him to it with a sparkle next to his eyes. ‘As long as he likes them…….’ Yoo Ji-han rubbed the back of his neck with a shy smile tugging at his lips as a faint blush spread across his cheeks. The cashier smiled as Yoo Ji-han and Chae Yoo-jeong walked away from the store. ‘They must be a couple……. What a perfect couple. And here I am, wondering what I’m doing with my life…’ *** They ate some croissants as they wandered through the streets, later enjoying donuts outside while watching pigeons go back and forth. “Come to think of it, I never saw your parents at the airport.” Chae Yoo-jeong remarked. Yoo Ji-han nodded. “They’re too lazy to see their own son. Those two are lovey-dovey enough on their own without me. Not to mention, they don’t like waking up early, so they didn’t come for the flight.” Chae Yoo-jeong laughed a bit, while Yoo Ji-han pouted. To let their body digestion properly after eating, they decided to explore a nearby park they had never visited before, strolling through its quiet paths and taking in the unfamiliar scenery. “I wonder why I’m getting chills all of a sudden.” Yoo Ji-han shivered slightly as the wind blew. “Maybe we should have brought the clothes with us instead of shipping them.” Chae Yoo-jeong murmured in a soft, sweet voice. They drew closer, subtly hugging each other as they walked, step by step. Though their pace was slow, the warmth between them felt different, gentle yet encompassing, as if it was wrapped around their hearts more tightly than ever before. After a while of walking, they came across a pre-wedding shoot between a female couple. There were two foreign looking women. One woman had long, straight, light brown hair, while the other had mid-length, wavy black hair. Both wore elegant white gowns. In a charming touch, they were posing with cats whose fur matched their own hair colors, the cats’ paws gently touching as if mirroring the couple’s affection. Many people were gathered around them as well as some, who stopped by, to mesmerize and go about their daily lives. Yoo Ji-han and Chae Yoo-jeong watched from afar, from where they could see. They then posed in such a way that they kissed each other's cheeks. The camera light flashed. Next, they finally posed to kiss each other. One of the cats licked the ear of the other cat and the other cat slapped the cat’s face who licked him. The photo ended up looking like the cat kissing each other. The photographer, who looked at the image, let out a small chuckle. A small squeak from the scattered crowd could be heard. Yoo Ji-han and Chae Yoo-jeong looked at each other at the same time and blushed. They inverted their faces from each other. Chae Yoo-jeong covered his eyes and proceeded to cover his blush. Only one thought crossed their brain simultaneously. ‘Could we get married like that too, someday?’ *** ‘The cats are really cute.’ Yoo Ji-han thought unconsciously, remembering the affectionate licking. --- Credits: Writer: Hoshi Miya Co-writer: Miry HM: please be sure to add on, your own creativity into this; I honestly had to watch a Video on Berlin Mall, to understand the surroundings. CH 9 They landed in Berlin, Germany. After they got out of the airplane, they began walking toward the baggage claim to collect the rest of their luggage. “It’s an unfamiliar air, huh?” Yoo Ji-han smiled as he strolled in a slow circle, checking out the unfamiliar sights and sounds of the airport. “It’s my first time leaving Korea.” He said, his eyes scanning the bustling airport with quiet fascination. Chae Yoo-jeong stretched his arms out with a faint, bitter smile, still feeling stiff from the eight-hour flight. “You never went to Jeju Island back in high school?” “No, I never did. I thought it would be boring.” “So… this is your first time on an airplane?” “I guess so…” Chae Yoo-jeong spoke, his voice tinged with enchantment at the unfamiliar surroundings. Yoo Ji-han stared at Chae Yoo-jeong’s face, as Chae Yoo-jeong’s gaze fell back on him, it was as if he had already sensed it. Without warning, Yoo Ji-han leaned in, closing the space between them, and brushed a quick kiss against his lips. The sudden gesture sent heat rushing to Chae Yoo-jeong’s cheeks, and he nearly shoved him away. “Hyung! We’re in public right now?!” Chae Yoo-jeong squeaked, his voice teetering on the edge of a shriek, yet the bustling crowd flowed past them as if nothing had happened. “It’s fine, my cute Yoo-jeong- ah ……” Yoo Ji-han murmured with a sly smirk, the nickname rolling off his tongue like a private joke. “No one cares here.” Before Chae Yoo-jeong could respond, Yoo Ji-han swung the bags over his shoulder with effortless grace and darted forward, weaving easily through the crowd. Chae Yoo-jeong’s breath caught for a moment. He hated when Yoo Ji-han walked away like that. It’s not that he actually hated it, but you would say that Chae Yoo-jeong felt tsundere-ish at how Yoo Ji-han teased. Without a single thought, his body moved on its own, feet carrying him in quick pursuit. His eyes stayed locked on Yoo Ji-han’s back, swaying in every movement, every turn of his head, as if the mere sight of him was something he couldn’t bear to lose. The chatter and clatter of the airport faded. There was only the steady pull of that familiar figure just ahead, drawing him in like gravity. *** Yoo Ji-han and Chae Yoo-jeong arrived at the reserved room, which was reserved by Yoo Ji-han’s company ahead of time, and set their luggage down near the front door. “This should be the right place, no…?” Yoo Ji-han muttered in a low voice, his eyes fixed on the number plate by the door handle. He slid the key into the lock and turned it counterclockwise. With a soft click, the door swung open. They dragged their luggage inside and closed the door behind them. The place they were staying in was small but functional, a single bedroom adjoining a compact living room, a modest bathroom, and a tiny kitchen tucked into the corner. The walls were painted with pale cream, and the faint hum of the city outside seeped through the thin windows. Chae Yoo-jeong’s eyes swept over the room, noting the limited space. ‘I guess they only considered there was only one person staying. Not only that, but also the space area is considerably small. It reminds me of the place where I used to live with my mother before remarrying.’ To his surprise, the apartment was fully furnished, not what he expected. Usually, when renting a place, it’s empty, waiting for someone to bring their own things. He had been imagining furnishing it himself, but now those plans seemed unnecessary. “This place is smaller than I thought.” “Well, mostly students from the nearby college stay here.” Yoo Ji-han said with a soft smile. “I think this apartment is reserved for that purpose too. So… It’s smaller than where we used to live.” He slipped his arms around Chae Yoo-jeong from behind, pulling him close until their bodies pressed together. “I like being this close to you. It feels... so nice.” They collapsed onto the bed, exhaustion finally catching up with them. Before Chae Yoo-jeong could pull his hands away, Yoo Ji-han gently caught them and leaned in, sinking his teeth softly into the side of his neck. He followed with a trail of delicate, ticklish kisses that made Chae Yoo-jeong shiver. “We’re tired right now. I wanted to take a bath.” Chae Yoo-jeong said, his voice heavy with playful surrender and shrugged his shoulders. Yoo Ji-han grinned as if he could already see the invisible droopy dog ears that matched his weary mood. “Then, let’s shower together.” Without hesitation, Yoo Ji-han hurriedly took off his clothes and tossed them onto the floor. Grinning, he grabbed Chae Yoo-jeong’s arms and pulled him toward the bathroom. For some reason, Yoo Ji-han hyung seems way more excited than usual, Chae Yoo-jeong thought, trying to keep up. “Wait, Hyung! .….let me take off my clothes first.” Chae Yoo-jeong protested, laughing nervously. As Chae Yoo-jeong was taking off his vest, Yoo Ji-han hurriedly took off his pants. While they were showering together, Chae Yoo-jeong helped Yoo Ji-han loosen his ass up by fingering it slowly and jerking off against his dick. The rapid rhythm of their movements, matched by their quickened breaths, filled the room, which included gripping and elongation. Their unsteady breaths and low, urgent moans were the only sounds breaking the silence that surrounded them. Pulled irresistibly toward one another, they kissed, slowly at first, then deeper, more desperate, until the world beyond the two of them seemed to fade into nothing. They reached the climax and cummed together. They held each other in the quiet aftermath, their breaths uneven and their hearts still pounding in sync….racing. Chae Yoo-jeong leaned in, resting his forehead gently against Yoo Ji-han’s shoulder. When he spoke, his voice was barely above a whisper, meant only for him. “I really like the fact that we’re still together…...after everything that happened. I couldn’t imagine…...living in a world without you.” Yoo Ji-han smiled faintly, his arms tightening around him. “We’re together now, and we’ll stay together……until death takes us apart.” Chae Yoo-jeong let out a shaky laugh. “Should I follow after you when you die, then Hyung?” Yoo Ji-han sweetly whispered into Chae Yoo-jeong’s ear and hugged him while patting his head. “Hahahahaha.… Please don’t…...Yoo-jeong-ah, I promise I’ll stay healthy and strong every day, so you’ll never have to worry about me dying. Hahaha” He pulled him closer, whispering the words like a vow, and gently patted his head in a comforting rhythm. *** They settled for the food they’d picked up at the airport, too tired and lazy to search for a restaurant and then go out and eat. Two sandwiches, dripping with ketchup and mustard, became their lazy dinner on their first night in the new place. “I don’t feel like eating sandwiches… I want kimchi soup.” Chae Yoo-jeong whined, chewing reluctantly. The sandwiches weren't bad, actually pretty good, but each chew left him feeling strangely unsatisfied, almost gloomy. Yoo Ji-han chuckled softly and reached over, ruffling his golden hair with an affectionate pat. “I’ll make kimchi soup for you tomorrow morning. I brought some kimchi with me……. let’s cook it together, Yoo-jeong- ah ?” Chae Yoo-jeong nodded, his expression brightening just a little. Satisfied, Yoo Ji-han unwrapped his sandwich and took a slow bite. “The meat definitely hits differently here…….” He remarked between chews, a faint smile tugging at his lips. “I can’t really tell the difference.” Chae Yoo-jeong muttered, his voice heavy with exhaustion, too drained mentally to think clearly. The long hours on the airplane had worn him down, jet lag weighing on him like a thick blanket. Then, with sudden, exaggeratedly funny theatrics, he tossed the sandwich into the air and swallowed it in a single gulp. “I guess…it was good.” Chae Yoo-jeong said nonchalantly, licking his lips clean before heading off to wash his hands. Yoo Ji-han blinked in disbelief, staring after him as if he had just witnessed a magic trick. *** The next morning, Yoo Ji-han carefully unwrapped the kimchi boxes his parents had given him before he left Korea, placing them neatly on the counter. Chae Yoo-jeong squinted from the side, trying to be as quiet as possible, and slowly reached toward the plastic container, hoping to sneak a piece of kimchi for himself. Just as he pinched a small piece between his fingers, Yoo Ji-han’s voice broke the silence of the kitchen. “Trying to steal my kimchi, hmmm…” Yoo Ji-han said with a smirk, leaning against the counter and crossing his arms. Chae Yoo-jeong froze, holding the tiny piece of kimchi between his fingers, his cheeks flushing. “I—I was just… testing if it’s fresh!” “Testing, huh?” Yoo Ji-han raised an eyebrow. “Ye… yeah…” Yoo Ji-han rolled his eyes with a chuckle. “Haa, Mister Tester, stop squinting down there and come help me now, okay?” Chae Yoo-jeong sheepishly stood up fast, almost blending into the glow of the lamp. He grabbed a knife and began chopping the kimchi on the cutting board, while Yoo Ji-han prepared the rest of the ingredients. And just like that, in no time, a steaming pot of kimchi soup was ready to eat. “And voilà!” Yoo Ji-han exclaimed, a big smile spreading across his face. “So delicious… Hyung, I’ll get everything ready for us to eat.” Chae Yoo-jeong said eagerly. “Okay… I’ll come help you with the food right away.” --- Credits: Writer: Hoshi Miya Co-writer: Miry HM: During times of war and hardship, kimchi served as a source of comfort and sustenance.
